That's something I've been ashamed of, ignored, teased, or people don't have no respect for lately.

Here's what me and my family's lifestyle is like:

My mom is a single parent.
I'm full-blown autistic.
Our family's not rich or nothing (in fact, our family always has a lot of money problems).
I always learn stuff easier than everybody else.
We rarely go anywhere.
My mom usually works until 6:00PM or something.
I'm not really the best in social situations.
I like stuff like cartoons, closing logos, video games, etc.
I like to collect stuff like VHS and DVDs.
I always have a childlike personality.

Here's what people I've been around lifestyles are like:

They always have rich families or something like that.
They know how to fit in the NT world.
They always have lots of money or something like that.
They can understand stuff like politics, current events, reality TV show-type stuff, etc.
They're sometimes cliquey.
They're always trying to be superior and ignore and tease people like me.
They can learn stuff the same as normal people.

Also, I don't fix in with those people at all and that's one of the reasons I don't want to go back to my school this year (or maybe there's a way to tell those people that my life is like the things I mentioned above).

*sighs* Will I ever find my place in this world?

I was looking at your lifestyle list.

I learn stuff easier than others too (well, in nonsocial areas.)
My family is thousands of dollars in debt.
I collect things obsessively.
I like cartoons (Avatar, anything from the old Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network).
I like logos.

My interests are really different from other peoples', and I'm useless in social situations.

Every time I went back to school I dreaded it, and I'm extra scared now because I'm going to college next week for the first time.

But you will find your place in the world. Maybe it won't be a traditional sort of niche. But wherever you're comfortable is where you should be.

These aren't things you want to fit in with.

Old fashion....in what sense?

I think our family has always been oldfashion in a sense of not being able to afford some of the luxuries in life like trendy games and trendy clothes that many uppercrusts could afford.

Plus we all seem to like our own tastes in things. I'm definitely a retro gal espeacially when it comes to movies or styles you'd probably see in a 1920's movie. Then again, there's a lot of old things I like to hoard. Don't know why this is. I also don't have cable, so for entertainment I garden and paint and sometimes I read cause I can get really sick of watching some of the TV shows espeacially reality ones with famous people in them...

My family has always been behind the curve. It greatly annoyed me as a kid. My mom did not trust me to perform upgrades on our several year old computer, and so I had to live with a 5 year old computer before getting a new one. It was also an extremely long time before we got our first DVD player.

It took my family ages to get a DVD player, eventualy we decided as the VHS tapes in the hire stores were disapearing, the first one we had was spiderman. despite I was born in 1990 as a kid I played the NES even though it was from the 80s, I was always behind on the games until recently when I decided to buy an Xbox360.

In terms of technology, not old fashioned at all. I knew what a computer was when I was 3. When I was 4 my mom introduced me to the internet via Sesame Street webpage. My brother had his own laptop at 12 during a time when most adults didn't have one. I grew up with a lot of gadgets.

I knew what a computer was from a young age, and was greatly infatuated with them and wanted to see more of them whenever possible. I just didn't have one of my own for a little while.

I don't watch TV.
I have not seen many movies.
I spend a lot of time writing, in complete silence.
I like long, detailed books.
I like to write letters, especially long ones.
I tend towards writing too much rather than too little.
I was raised with a code of politeness from the Victorian era.
Time passes slowly and I am eternally patient.
I tend to my plants and animals.
I am fairly oblivious to current popular culture.
I prefer writing by hand to typing.
I prefer older technology to newer technology. For instance, I would rather buy a type writer than an iPod.

My mentality is simultaneously adolescent and geriatric.

I have old school video games
I still have my VHS tapes and a VCR but it's not old
I don't have an ipod
I don't do internet on the phone
I really don't like text messaging
I don't go to movies much
My boyfriend and I only have one car (which is my car)
We don't curse in public
I do not have a hybrid

NES isn't just from the 80's, it's also from the early 90's too. They released their last game for it in Dec. 1994

I don't listen to rap or hip hop (I'd rather bathe in sulfuric acid)

I don't catch onto the ipod thing or whatever kids are into, I'm still using cassettes and CDs

I still like older video games and movies, Most of the newer ones today are full of Hollywood bullsh** that glorifies crime and the like.

I believe it's ridiculous to spend $70+ on a single piece of clothing.

Not really into politics nor do I care to be. They're all crooked anyway.

I'd rather live in the 60's or earlier than the present.

I can't work on account of my poor social skills which I hope to change soon.

My mom came from a poor family while dad came from a sort of rich family. Not filthy rich but well off. I personally don't have very much to do with my dad's side of the family, especially after he died. Because of their wealth, they look down on others like everyone else is supposed to carry their piss bucket. But I get some of their money when they die!

Well I guess also I do not use my mobile phone much (partialy as no one to call), I do not realy like carrying devices so I can listen to music on the go. Well I will tell you that it was after 94 that I played the NES, family has always been below on computer, at the moment the our pc is on ME, at least I have my fairly up to date laptop. Even though I feel disnconected from popculture I still would rather live in the present, I like progres and to live in the past would feel like a reverse of progres.
