what would it be?

I've had plenty of these thoughts in force from time to time, though its tough to really remember much from a long time ago.

One thought I had, I was in the car on the way to work listing to the Absolution cd by Muse, and between listening to Blackout and some of the other tunes, the mudded out speed-stums kinda remind me of the main line of Adagio for Strings by Tiesto; as in I'm thinking if they did an instrumental guitar, piano, violins, and live drums version of that the way they handle Knights of Cydonia - for the sort of emotional ambience that Strings has they'd be exactly the band to pull it off, they're stuff already has a similar emotional drive (and of course yeah, they're a live band rather than a producer so they'd want to add some adaptations to make it work). Not Tiesto obsessed either, I just think they should as an interlude between songs one of these times :P.

"Top of the World" by Shonen Knife should be covered by Judy and Mary (the band who performed the opening theme to "Rurouni Kenshin")

"In This Life" by Chantal Kreviazuk should be covered by Groove Coverage

"There She Goes" by The La's should be covered (again) by Cascada

"Only You" by Captain Jack should be covered by Aqua

"That's The Way It Is" by Celine Dion should be covered by Groove Coverage

"Prayer" by Hayley Westenra should be covered by Linda Ronstadt (The original version is gorgeous, but I am curious as to whether Linda's voice could give me chills from this song like it did when she sang "Dreams to Dream".)

"You're The Inspiration" by Chicago should be covered by Cascada (Yanou's Candlelight version; not a fast-paced dance version)

I'd like to hear Slipknot do an entire cover album of Pantera songs, especially Walk, This Love, Becoming, and Cemetery Gates. Phil Anselmo and Corey Taylor both have the same amount of power in their voice, but Corey uses it differently. The amount of brute force that all the rest of the band provides would take some great songs and push them over the top.

I think it would be hilarious if Cake did a cover of KMFDM's Juke Joint Jezebel.

I'd love Vanessa Mae to remake all of Bond's songs.

I'd like to see Photek compose Goldie's Timeless from start to finish. ;)

The Dillinger Escape Plan doing the James Bond theme.

And I'd like to see a hardcore band covering 'Hey Bulldog' by the Beatles. I think that piano riff could be done in Drop C and it'd be amazing.

Peshay would be a good choice for that too I think :).

On the Photek note though, what about a Loxy & Matt U remix of Consciousness put out on Xtinction Agenda? (yes, I hope they're reading :lol: ).

Icicle and Nymfo would be good for it as well I think.

There are some abominable songs by Christina Aguilera that I guess would sound glorious if sung by Celine Dion.

XD

ANGELSPIT:

I want them to cover My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult's "The Days of Swine and Roses":

~~~
CRADLE OF FILTH:
They've already done "Temptation." So why stop now? Why not do...
The Pussycat Dolls' - "Dontcha"!
Just imagine Dani Filth squealing, "Dontcha wish your girlfriend was hot like MEEEEE?"
Or The Dresden Dolls - "Coin Operated Boy":
Bwahahah. I'm only joking.
~~~~

SLIPKNOT:

I want them to do a metal cover of "DOUBLE TROUBLE"!

No, really!

~~~~
EVANESCENCE:
I want them to cover The Cruxshadows' "Leave Me Alone":
I also want Amy Lee to cover X-Japan's "Crucify My Love":
~~~~

MARILYN MANSON:

I want him to cover Tool's "Vicarious":

I know Tool fans will be outraged, but I just much prefer Manson's sound, but I love that actual song.

~~~~
I also want SOMEONE to do an industrial/classical/metal cover of Oingo Boingo - "Insanity":
But I'm not sure who!
And I think someone should do a metal cover of She Wants Revenge's "Tear You Apart":
Oh, and someone should do a creeeeeepy cover of "Banana Phone" by Raffi....
I'm with you all the way there my friend.
All 4 could collab and work on it together, with cameos from Tech Itch and Decoder. ;)
I'd also like to see SOAD cover "Stinkfist" by Tool or "Parabola" (both Parabol + Parabola).
That would be awesome. :)
Tech Itch and Decoder are more just dark rolling tech, though one thing I've noticed is they've never remixed any songs by or worked with Shanie. Dom & Roland's done it a couple times, Dillinja's done it a couple times, part of making that kind of dark is mixing it with the right sort of r&b at times.
