Limburger is nice for the every day sort of cheese, and tilsit is great, really, for that extraordinarily delicious rotten taste experience. Sometimes, I just cave in and have to buy a good chunk of blue stilton or gorgonzola. Does anyone else here find cheese to be a major weakness?

I've got a thing for processed cheese at the moment, it's the common persons brie - soft, bland and it comes in plastic wrapped slices, so easy to eat.

Well, this is something called pultost here, comes from the latin
word "pulta" which means porrage or something like that.
(ost = cheese)

Anyway, its horrible :) some of the hardcore likers of this,
age it for 5-10-20-30! years, it smells like death, it looks like..
not food, and it tastes like boiled garbage *shutter* in short,
its aweful!! !! (i think) :) its one of those things that was big when
your grandparents were young, not so much used anymore. The
smell can be used by the police to drive people out of buildings
i think, worse then maze

Had to eat this (i felt) as a kid when i was visiting people and they
offered food. Still have nighmares about that freakin`cheese..
oh, and the oldest i have ever heard of, was aged for 42 years!! omg!!
""here son, my father gave me this cheese and now i give it to you,
take good care of it""

I like cheese too...goat cheese or sheep feta are my most preferred (easier for me to digest & causes me less sinus trouble). But some of the others that I enjoy are Munster, Havarti, blue cheese like Roquefort or Gorgonzola, etc. Oh yeah & there's an aged version of Cotija (fresh Mexican cheese) that can be sliced & grilled. It's a great appetizer!

I love cheese. My favourite cheeses have got to be cheddar, leerdammer, camembert, brie and stilton.

I like the tang of feta, but I find that eating too much makes my throat hurt.

But the wooden spoon must surely go to halloumi. Utter, utter puke.

About the only kind of cheese I don't like is goat cheese. The flavor is too strong. As for a favorite, hmmm ... probably Vermont cheddar.

I've been quite fond of heavily aged cheddar and gouda lately, to the point that it develops a very hard and almost crunchy texture. Goat cheese is one of my preferred cooking cheese really, not something i eat by the pound alone.
