I swear, the phone at our house rings at least once every half hour. Two of the phones have different ringers for some reason. It drives me insane! I don't understand why people want to call so much. :x

I hate talking on the phone. I can't stand it. I usually get some young bimbo who doesn't understand any accents, but her own.

I dread the phone.
I find it unnerving, scary, and very annoying.
I can't stand to hear it ring.

Who wouldn't loathe them? I mean, seriously, it just... RINGS!! Suddenly.
A shrill, unexpected noise.

Its like a siren. Who would want random emergency signals going off in their heads whenever some one wants to talk to them through a piece of technology?

Why can't the ring be clam. Like classical music or something?

X.X

Scary nonsense.

I don't think I could handle fire engine noises going off in my house.

Too freaky.

I'd be shaky for a week after wards.

I can handle it on the road, because thats expected, and then there is an actual fire truck to attach the noise to.
But if its just associated with the phone?
It would be even harder to use the darned thing.

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if I could change the home phone to regular music.

Have two phones, both set on "silent" and rarely
use them - nothing breaks my concentration more
then a ringing phone. Just look at them now and then
to see if anyting important has happened. Hate to
talk on the phone, avoid it as much as possible. It
might be easier to figure out the meaning of life then
to reach me by phone

The phone should burn in the lowest circle of hell.

Im so tempted to back you up on that one :) phones, and all the people
that do this: "hey man, have you heard my new ringtones? just listen to this,
its so ûbercool... **wall of useless annoying sounds hits me like a brick**

*aaaaaagh..take that crap and get it away from me aaaaaaagh, your
piercing my brain*

It`s a tool, it can save lifes, but when people get addicted to it and cant sleep
if the phone is turned off, then thats it for me. Crap, pure crap. Remember my
first cellphone, must have been 1994, i could use it to make calls, that was it.
No pics, no messages, not 5,000,000 different sounds, just a phone. It was great.

I can't stand the sound of a telephone, especially on my particularly bad days. Over 90% of the calls to my home phone aren't even for me, but for someone who's not even around for most of the day.

As for my cell phone, I have a very nice ringtone that I made from the song Summertime as sung by Renee Olstead. It's unique, so I always know it's my phone going off, and there's a small gap of silence after the first two seconds of sound so it doesn't continue disturbing anyone who might be around me.
