I really don't care much about this election, but I do have one question. Obama announced his choice for veep at about 0200 hours Satruday morning. Somebody please enlighten me why he was so eager to keep us in the dark for so long, and why he chose to announce it at that forsaken hour. I mean, why do that when more people will be watching on the morning news?

Not to mention this is showing some of Obama's weaknesses. Well, of course, it does play to the strength of both Senators because they both came from thier roots (Obama from Chicago, Biden from a working-class family). However, there is a show of weakness in Obama- with Biden's foreign policy experience, and Obama's lack of, it shows Obama's insecurity. Even though he still is ahead in most national polls, it might hurt Obama.

Really I don't care unless Obama dies in office this guy is nothing more than a figure head.

That is a popular misconception, but dead wrong...

The US vice-president is the president of the senate, wielding power over the senators and casting the deciding vote in the event of a tie.

The office of the vice president is very powerful...

God, CNN wouldn't shut up about this announcement for days before this announcement.

Anyways, sounds like a decent choice for Obama. I'd probably still vote Libertarian.

I thought Obama would pick Sen. Evan Baye
{rhymes with eye} of Indiana as his number two.

But hey, Sen. Joe Biden is a great choice for Obama!
Obama wanted a #2 who would challenge his thinking
and all signs were pointing to Joe Biden of Delaware.

Something unique about Sen. Biden is
that he does not live in Washington DC.

He takes the Amtrak train to DC from his Wilmington home
every day. He has done so since he was elected to the US Senate
at age 29. It is a 250-mile round trip from Wilmington to DC.
