There's nothing in the thread indicates that girls can't fix things themselves.

If they can fix things themselves, then why is it listed as a notable advantage?

But this silly guide is called "A Girl's Guide to Geek Guys" and not "A Boy's guide to Geek girls" ,see? So if it was the latter then it would be mentioned that geek girls fix things

You are the one with a sexist mind.

No, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have mentioned the part about fixing things if the situation was reversed.

It's an advantage over other non-geeks guys, these advantages are not a comparison of geek guys vs geek girls but it's a geek guys vs non-geek guys comparison.

You can't handle the truth that all men are sexist bastards.

It's funny how they could only come up with a whopping 5 reasons as to why we make better boyfriends. And as LePetitePrince points out, none of those reasons mean a damn thing to most women. It's been a good 16 years since that advice was written, and it continues to fall on deaf ears.

The list of reasons may indeed be too small, but I do think that more and more women are attracted to geeks... ;-)
I have been looking for one sexy nerd myself, but they are hard to find as they don't leave the house or work much.

LePetitPrince is the awesome!

Seriously, why lie to yourself just so you can be happy?
If your life has to be one big lie in order for you not to be depressed, then there is probably some other issues coming into play.
At least, being realistic, you don't obsess about something that never comes true (and when you realize it, get sad and depressed that your unrealistic hopes and dreamed just crashed and burned and left behind only a small amount of ashes).

I would like to convince my single girlfriends of all the benefits of dating sexy nerds, but the extra competition would in turn diminish the odds of finding one for myself.

Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about that. There are plenty of geek guys to go around, and this forum is a good indicator of that.

Did you not read the article? Haha.
They wouldn't be geeky if they left their hiding place and went to the bars and clubs like most do :P

LOL!
I am not saying that they need to go to clubs....women looking for sexy nerds would not go there anyways. At least, I know I would not. Too much loud music ...but there must be a good compromise between clubs and the WWW????

maybe one solution would be taking your laptop, nintendo ds or book to a local coffee shop instead of hiding at home? or maybe going to a sports club? i don't know....but nice geeks are really hard to find!! !! sadly, i am not enough of a star trek fan, so u won't see me at the next convention to find my perfect geek. or maybe i should make an effort :D
