"""Hi there,

It depends on the/your definition of a redneck but in a broad perception I think they're everywhere. Maybe less in cities and more in rural areas.

Live and let live.
Fighting ignorance you will always lose. M. de Montagne said wisely.

Bye,
C."""

Yes, probably more of a rural "thing". Rednecks is used
as a bad word sometimes, but to me its just a description,
i dont see any negative in it

It's weird to think that people in Europe listen to country music. You never see Europeans being portrayed as being rednecks on TV.

Country music was probably influenced by the folk music of Scotland,Ireland and the Brittany area of France. Not sure that everyone equates 'country' with rednecks.I like to think country
includes bluegrass music like that of Alison Krauss.

Hi,

Okay, not per se negative, some are quite friendly.
But to me a redneck tends to be a bit ignorant. Or....

Maybe I am a bit ignorant in my perception of a redneck.
Could be, but I find most (the ones I have in mind, in my region) not very intelligent.

Again, live and let live, of course.

Beft (I lisp sometimes) of luck,
C.

Might have to do with movies, when was the last time anyone
saw a smart redneck in a movie :) theres a stereotype there,
in the movies they cant read or write usually and say things like
"you smell purty pa" and "go fetch me some roadkill for supper boy"
drink moonshine for breakfest, have no teeth and play the banjo
like theres no tomorrow, and everyone is usually releated
"I`m my own grandpa"-kind of stuff :)

people in Europe speak french, have bad teeth, drink red wine and smoke and listen to jazz while talking existential philosophy. and have lots of explicit sex.

there are no rednecks here, we are all highly educated, blasee-d snobs.

I have seen a few Europian films, infact I am watching one on tv right now, I think I I have seen some just like what was mentioned above, but I think I have seen some. Russia is part of Europe right, I think I saw some Russian rednecks in a movie.

I bet there's no rednecs, chavos and other scumbags in places like Monaco, Luxembourg or Switzerland (btw that IS in Europe ;p). they're too rich for that I reckon...

I bet that the rednecks in Europe are 1/4 as redneck as the rednecks here.

It just depends on where you go, travel far enough
from the citys and you`re in backcountry fast :)
People are people no matter where you go i think
Personally i think europe is pretty good, it has its
share of awsome places, both with and without rednecks :)
Iceland and Switzerland f.ex, great great places. And Monaco,
but thats just a riddicolus place :) its too great. If i were
to move here, i`d go for Sweden, Iceland, Switzerland
or Norway i think. If i had to pick one out of those i`d
go for Sweden

Thats true :) the place to relax and let the good times roll
what happens in Netherland, stays in Netherland
Surprisingly often the answer is "..i`m not sure, its a little
fuzzy" when asked if they had a good time there.

And, pretty much the entire country is a meter or two below
sea level i think, thats a little weird :)
