Which fields of work are relatively immune to recessions, and very difficult to get laid off in, and very easy to find employment in?

Anything that fits all your criteria is likely to be low paid.

Something in the energy field, providing power, should be secure. Something in the repair field, mechanic-HVAC-electrician-plumber-carpentry, should be secure. Medical field should be secure. Veterinary and pest removal and exterminator jobs should be secure. Teaching field should be secure. Clean-up field, garbage removal-recycling-water and waste management-janitorial-etc., should be secure. Supplying needs fields, including food and clothing, should be secure.

Working for the government, whether city, state or federal, is usually very difficult to get laid off in. They tell me that my job is considered a state job, as it is state funded, and it's difficult once past the initial 90 day period to fire someone and I work at a community college. The pay is pretty low as I do janitorial, but the benefits is pretty damn outstanding. I'm thinking of going into automobile mechanics though.

The military is the only thing that could be considered recession proof.

Isn't peace sort of like a military recession?

Debt collection and medical assistance (especially nursing home and hospice care as the Baby Boomers age.)

Mortician should be pretty recession-proof. I've read that morticians with embalmingskills are especially sought after.

With the huge cohort of baby boomers heading towards retirement and old age, anything to do with aged care and it's associated services (personalised shopping etc) should be great for the next 15 years. Also health services are always required.

no because peace and the human race will never be used in the same sentence. And even if there is peace you need to be on guard. It's not like there is a big sign in the sky hey <insert your country here> your going to get attacked soon, better start recruiting soldiers
