most of what was mentioned already am find relaxing, but have a few more things for add-
hugging things really tightly
rocking with GFB [cat] on knee, and stroking him.
heavy pressure during being completely restrained.
heavy duty rug [longer than am,too heavy to lift on own]
head banging [controlled hb]
rocking [controlled]
lying outside on the concrete at night-when no one else is out, when there's as little noise as possible and there's bats flying over,it's the cool feeling of the concrete on skin and seeing the bats race up and down that does it am think.
redbull.
going for drives [staff drive the car],am always seem to go in a trance in car rides as long as there's no sirens going off,ambulance/police sirens or other noisy things.
building rows of mega bloks [like lego].
going for walks in woods/quiet places are not going to get lawnmowers, tractors screaming little...kids etc in.
horse riding/RDA hacks [though havent done this for a long time].
lining certain things up.

that sounds like the kitty may be doing reiki without even knowing it. :cat:

My own special local wilderness canyon. Sometimes in the late afternoon, I feel like I could just disembody and disappear into the forest.
The sight and/or sound of running water.
The scent of basil, lavender, or chaparral in warm sunshine. One sniff and I practically melt.
Archery, just shooting arrows into the target, mindlessly.
Watching small planes take off and land. It's hypnotic.
Watching birds at the feeders.
Watching my cats chase each other.
Trail running. Shouldn't let attention lapse, but I do. I feel like a deer (a really slooooow deer), just another anonymous part of nature.
Arranging hanging stuff in the closet by color.
Drinking my coffee in the dark, just before sunrise. Very calming.

Coffee helps me relax and focus. Weird, huh?

I guess it's something like the way stimulants work for ADHD.

Cuddling up with my Rip Van Winkle doll and watching the TruTV channel in bed.

Opening up my window and breathing in the fresh air (for some reason it works really well if I'm worrying about getting sick).

Twirling around my iPod earphones (I think it might be a new stim for me).

I love the feel of grasshoppers. I am always catching them just to stroke them. It's so calming for me. The grasshoppers could care less.

Looking into flashing lights, such as those of police cars.

Playing the keyboard, one piece or part again and again... though that's not unusual, I guess.

Listening to music on headphones as loud as possible is relaxing and real calming for me.

I play the same music piece over and over again. Either on my oboe or on the stereo. Which music piece I choose to play vary a lot but I definitely got some favorites.

Ooh, I also love it when my hair is played with. When I was in elementary school we used to get our heads checked for lice every once in a while. I LOVED it when the school nurse would carefully and gently finger my scalp. Fortunately, I never had lice lol.

Here's what relaxes me:
Video games (The ones I can create myself in)
Being hugged by my lifesize pillow figure (my current one based on Ken of Street Fighter is the biggest I've ever made and its hug is supertight! It helps me sleep at night)
Comedy routines and TV logos on my PSP at night (not sure why this helps me sleep but it does in conjunction with my Ken Masters pillow figure)
I'm starting to gain self esteem so I'll be experimenting to find what else relaxes me. Calmness is important to me.

I agree with those. :) I love getting my hair played with and have since I was little

More of mine are:

Some peoples voices are relaxing
Listening to the life in the forest
Flowing water in rivers and waterfalls
Getting a back and neck massage
The sound of rain on the roof

Overall I love the sounds of nature.

The feel of my cats purring next to me.
