A visual interpretation of Asperger's Syndrome

I found this on an Aspergers website and it absolutely captivated me



I showed it to my Aspie dad and he said his mind does look like that but more complicated. I think mine would have Star Wars characters pushing the balls around, but close enough

I could watch this all day...who else relates to it?

I think what you're saying is many aspies are highly visual thinkers, is that it?

My thoughts look more like this:



Except constantly moving and changing, and with bits of text interspersed.

(And the picture isn't quite right, but it's the best I could find in a short search.)

There have been times when I did look at such things a while. Can anyone here look at that for a second, and even know how many exits there are in the picture?

Most of the time lately "blank" is the best way to describe it. The rigors of full time university, plus the extreme and constant socialization of living in college, exhausts my poor aspie mind so much there's nothing left in it. However, a few years ago that probably would be a good interpretation of my mind.

I've always described my thoughts as a web. This looks fairly close to the concept.

No, but I knew in a second that it repeats 32 steps in order. <edit>oops! 30 steps.

And I used to draw machines like that with a toilet as the input and
hamburgers as the output when my age had only one number in it. LOL

yeah thats my head for sure. a multitude of thoughts, some interlinked and others not. thoughts appearing and disappearing through strange comlexities. and never being resolved, simply reoccuring

But I'm not sure that I have a visual representation of how my brain works. Hmmm...thinking....

I think I visualize the network of neurons like a huge mass of tangled spiderwebs, with electrical blips flying around everywhere along the lines. (so pretty realistic for how the brain actually works) But I see my differences like I have all these compartments where different memories are stored, and memories of all my thoughts because I am such a thinker. When I have a new experience, or a new problem come up, or a new thought (let's call this new thing a template). My brain takes this template and tries putting it into every available memory compartment to see if it fits anywhere. It will fit into some compartments perfectly and have a strong connection and I figure out the problem. It will fit into some compartments only a little, so I might make a wrong connection, but sometimes when this happens, I actually form an extremely profound insight and a new and excellent solution to an old problem.

Oh, and could you post the URL where you found that animation? I'd like to put it on my MySpace page, so I can stare at it some more. LOL

I'm trying to find the part where the man jumps into the pan and the cage comes down on the mouse.
