The Dresden Dolls - Girl Anachronism (I can't exactly say what the emotion is, but I definitely identify with it.)
Poe - Control (very empowering)
Kate Voegele - Might Have Been (especially since I'm starting to reconnect with an old friend)
Bonnie McKee - When It All Comes Down (another hopeful, empowering song)
Bruce Springsteen - Thunder Road (for when I feel like getting away)
Fiona Apple - Better Version of Me (my theme song!)
Kate Bush - The Big Sky (makes me feel free)
Toby Lightman - Alone (when I feel like I want to cry - this song never fails to make me)

There are quite a few songs that do that to me...not as many as the first poster's, though xD Only thing is, that I'm not really sure WHAT ones make me feel strong emotion. But, here's a few I know do;

Mind Forest - Gackt (Great song...so much sadness. The whole song feels very dramatic)
Kanashimi Twilight - Morning Musume (Again, very dramatic sounding. Great song)
Pierrot the Clown - Placebo (Actually, most of Placebo's songs do, but, I remember this one having a particularly strong effect on me. When I actually just sit and really listen to the lyrics...it's just so sad)
Telephone Ring Ring Ring! - Mini Moni (Super-happy song. Lucky Cha Cha Cha, too)
Le Ciel - Malice Mizer (Such a beautiful song. Gackt's vocals, as usual, rock in this one!)
Don't Let Me Go - Origa (A really great song. Beautiful vocals. One of my favourites by her, along with Inner Universe, Tersicore and Aney, Unborn Child)
Samidare Koi Uta - W (Double You) (Unlike most of W's songs, this is a slow, sweet and very touching track)
Kimi ni Negai wo - Miyavi (Absolutely awesome. A sort of sad feeling brought across here. I love when Meevers produces something like this)
Furusato - Morning Musume (A REALLY beautiful song. Cheers to Tsunku on the lyrics in this one. They're so beautiful and touching. Best version of this song, in my opinion, is Mari Yaguchi's, then Nono's)
Filth in the Beauty - the GazettE (Back to dramatic stuff. Pretty heavy guitars, too. Awesome song)
Last Forever -Buono! (Great song, that's all I can say about this one. Maybe other than that Momo-chan's singing was great in it ^^ But, it has a weird effect on me)
Kesenai Tsumi - Nana Kitade (Not sure what it makes me feel...it's just awesome)
Neophilia - Aya Hirano (Love it...all over...It's...so...brilliant!)
Lust for Blood - Gackt (Same feelings as Mid Forest, though, I like Mind Forest MUCH better!)
And, finally; Vanilla - Gackt (It SCARES me...creepy lyrics O.o)

I hope that will do =P

Cool! I've only got one of their albums so far (which i skived off a friend), and I haven't heard that one yet. Must check it out! :D

Along those same lines, try Skillet (darker, but amazingly powerful - once you've heard them you'll NEVER go back). They're really amazing. Standout songs: Rebirthing, Comatose, The Last Night

That's funny, my brother told me about Skillet about 3 yrs. ago, he listens to far more music than I do. He laughed when he mentioned the name.. I think alternative music is just incredible, love it , love it, and I am in my middle-age years  Thanks for connecting! Enjoy your day!
