My dad told me if you go into through a traumatic exprience this can cause you to loose all your hair through stress. Although I think this rare?

My dad got really sick and had migraines for a few months and at the end of it all, the hair at his temples had turned grey, so I know that stress can have an effect on your hair.

Yeah, i`m 32 and the last 3 months the
hair on the sides have turned more and
more, now its a clear grey shine there -
6 months, a year more and its probably
totally grey some places :( seems a
little..i dont know....soon :( have also
gotten grey hairs in my facial hair i have
noticed lately. One thing is that i`m 32
but i look 25/much younger then i am
people say, so then i guess i look like
a 25 year old with grey hair. Oh great
 that i need - and i have dark brown
hair, just to make sure its very visibel -
dammit! uh, i have to laugh, its
just....uh  i demand that i shall have
brown hair, or be 20 years older - and
booze, i demand to have some booze!
do you hear me God!!?

Stressed people are more likely to pull out their hair. But the hair itself won't fall out on its own due to stress.

I disagree, but i cant claim to be right - from what
i`ve read and experienced stress can make people
loose hair more rapidly - the same with bad food
habbits

Stress is believed to be a likely factor in sudden on-set, temporary adult-alopecia.
