^ These are all really nice, and remind me of my visit to Holland some years ago.

Mostly Alkmaar, Haarlem (where they wouldn't let me in to the Grote Kerk to see the organ!), Amersfoort and Hilversum - but with many other places in-between, including Amsterdam.
Happy days, many very friendly people, and an ongoing failure to learn Dutch.

These night shots capture the atmosphere very nicely, I think.

Thank you! Sounds like a nice visit.
Maybe they weren't sure the organ was autism-proof

But, but - I only wanted to look.

In the years since, I now have it as a sample set for the excellent Hauptwerk software - so I also got to play it in the end. 8)

Nice! Do you own a midi organ or seperate keyboards and pedals?
It's been years since I've last seen and heard the Müller organ in Haarlem during the biennial organ festival, it's an impressive behemoth of beauty both visually and aurally.

I take piano lessons from a russian lady, and after a concert she gave in a church in The Hague we were allowed to have a go at the organ, which was nowhere near as big or impressive as the Müller but nevertheless the sound was overwhelming. I found it difficult though, I'll stick with piano.

Separate keyboards, plus direct MIDI input via scoring software. I actually have a three-manual stack, pedalboard, two swell pedals and bench but owing to a shameful and chronic inability to complete... well, just about any project, and a shortage of floor space, I tend to make do with other means.

Yes indeed, it's beautiful in every way.
For those who have no idea what we're talking about, it's this incredible creation:

Covering the whole west wall of the church and measuring almost 30 metres (~ 98 feet) from the ground, it was originally built by Christiaan Müller 1735-38 and since then, has been very carefully restored to an almost original configuration using around 90% of the original pipes - which are, unusually, all metal (an alloy of lead and tin).

Abstract Minimalism applying photography is my forte. I've done many images of inanimate objects and landscapes - striking similarities to my works contained in following examples: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22abst ... 49&bih=625
