My mom just told me that people with AS tend to me more tall and lanky like me (im 6'2" and 155 pounds, so i know im fairly skinny) but both my parents were also skinny as kids. What shes saying may be true as my dad is a little shy of 6 feet and my mom is like 5'9" or so. I wanna know how tall and heavy you are to see if i can prove my mom wrong or see if she is right.

(IIRC, Attwood said that males with AS tend to be taller than their "NT" brethren.)

I'm 6'1", and I'll go and weigh myself now; 216 pounds. I'm not small.

This ressembles much the theory of William Sheldon about phyisical types and psychological types, nemely the relation between "ectomorphic" body type (tall and skinny) and the "cerebrotronic" psychological type (solitary and intelectual, who is very similar to the aspie stereotype - not necessarly real aspies).

Btw, according to Sheldom, "ectomorphic/cerebrotronics" also look younger (like aspies).

yeah i read about those physical body types

ectomorph- skinny, fast metabolism, usually lives longest, can develop a beer gut as an adult though but arms and legs usually remain skinny

mesomorph- muscular and built with broad shoulders and great posture

endomorph- naturally fat and often suffer obesity problems later

i am certainly an ectomorph at 6'2" and 155 pounds, i also have six pack abs but alot of that is cuz im skinny and i do crunches every day

why are aspies taller anyway?

I'm pretty darn short, but not REALLY short, and I'm about 100 pounds. I'm pretty slim. Part of that is due to adderol, which reduces my appetite. (Don't worry, I'm not annerexic. I got some meat on my bones.)

I WAS skinny. I guess tall is a subjective term. I was always middle of the road. If you want absolutes, now.... 6'1"(1.85M) 259lb(118KG)

I wouldn't say we are taller. I'm only 5'5 and 1/2 my dad is about 5'8 and he's an aspie. None of the aspies I've ever met have been particularly tall, or lanky.

Excess testosterone?

Most of the males I've seen in person with an ASD have been around my height; could be a coincidence.

Uh. I'm shorter than should be expected then. At 5'6" (167cm) I am about 3 or 4 inches shorter than average. At roughly 140lbs (63kg) I am hardly skinny either.
