I can whistle well.

At first, I could only do the shrill whistle (A6-A7) but then I learned the mellow whistle (C5-C7) and now can barely do the shrill whistle. My whistle is tuned and can be quite expressive with it.

Try this.

Go, "duhhh, duhhh, duhhh". Seriously. Have a few goes.

Put a pencil between your lips and try to squeeze it for all it's worth. Like you were trying to squash it thinner.

Now take out the pencil, repeat the lip squeeze and go, "duhhh, duhhh, duhhh" again. After a few attempts, you might well hear a faint shushing noise; not quite a whistle, but getting there.

Keep doing this, playing about with the lip movements till you get a clearer whistling sound. Keep your lips moist.

Can whistle just fine, but 'Dixie' has more range than I do...

Thankfully, no. I've always whistled. Too much, probably. I am constantly whistling/tapping/humming/drumming/etc. That is a trait of AS, I think. Little constant fidgety stuff, usually involving a melody or rhythm.

I should have set up a poll but it looks like for the most part aspies have a very difficult time whistling, thank you all for your replies.

I will whistle loudly in public.
I wonder if that's acceptable...
I will also sing loudly in public too...not thinking anyone would notice..or not even noticing that I am doing it.

yes. i do this too. i have been told it is not acceptable...but i am beyond caring...and happy about it.

yes. i do this too. i have been told it is not acceptable...but i am beyond caring...and happy about it.

I don't care about anything I do in public, I will be singing an innapropriate song about... well I won't go into detail and my friend will say, "Dude, be quiet." But I won't care when people give me a weird look.
