I am an excellent cook. It is always delicious and looks great. I don't like cooking because it is so much work. I love the reactions to my food though. More self conflict...

I'm an okay cook.

I lived in an on campus house my sophmore year of college (I'm a junior this year). We had a kitchen with a oven and stove top, plenty of counterspace, two microwaves, five or so fridges, a foreman griller, and an actual grill outside. Most of my cooking was Thursday and Friday nights. Thursdays because I worked through dinner at the Tech desk and Fridays because it wasn't good food. I don't remember what I did on the weekends....those are a bit of a blur to me. though the ironic thing was that I was on the 21 meal plan, (3 meals 7 days a week) and I was eating maybe half of them, second semester I just switched to the 14 meal plan, which made more sense.

My house actually hosted Superbowl (well one of the parties at least, 5 others or so on campus at last count). I did most of the cooking for it. Two pizzas from papa murphys. Hamburgers and dogs off the grill (from Costco, so good hamburgers) chips and dip, veggies and dip, Hye rollers, and a few other things. Mostly done by me, with the help of my housemates who got me into costco, really wish I had a membership.

Next year (senior year) I want to live in a house again. I really like cooking. My housemates mostly did pastas and things, with chicken in them. I am a good cook, though just a tad bit lazy.

I hate cooking. I cook basic stuff like noodles, eggs, pancakes, cake, cookies.

Do I cook? I know how to cook some things. Do I like to cook? Not really. I would much rather have someone cook FOR me, so that i don't have to do work.

Today, I decided to make my first meatloaf from a combo of several different receipes. I just put it in the oven a few minutes ago and, in my mind, it should turn out pretty good. We'll see in 45 minutes or so. :chin:

We should start a recipe swap thread.

...and I volunteer the professional cook/chef in this thread to start it ;)

Not really. I could learn, but I am lazy. When I do "cook" it's usually the same few things over and over.. like mashed potato pancakes, potatoes and onions, or pumpkin muffins (I like baking since it's very straightforward). And of course basic stuff like grits or beans or whatever.
Anything more complicated than that usually results in disaster. I can follow a recipe okay but on the rare occasion I want to try a recipe, I get sidetracked, and end up with strange things (and debris everywhere)
