Hint: I've never even been to Florida! It's a different state.

I'll post my other hints again since they're on the other page now.

*This is a place we consider "The LA of the South"
*There's a lot of 'space' in this place
*The weather is hot and crazy!
*To cool off, just head to the local islands

No, I said it was my birth town. I moved to Indiana when I was six, but I've been to the other place a billion times since.

Funny thing is, I don't even sound like I'm from Texas! Apparently, I sound like I'm from Cincinatti. But if I'm really upset about something, I can have a thick Texas accent.

San Marcos Texas ?

Correct!

BTW, Luling and Lockhart are the towns involved in the barbecue war, in Caldwell County.

The two major cities are San Antonio and Austin.

The college is Texas State.

The governor's mansion was torched by an arsonist last year. The governor and his wife were out of the country at the time (and staying in another house as the governor's mansion was undergoing renovations at the time of the fire).

This region, formerly a vast wetland a few hundred years ago, is the largest concentration of muck in the US of A outside of the Everglades.
