I am considering accounting as my major in college. I would like to know if anyone has had experience being an accountant and how well it has worked out for them. I would think that it would be a good career for someone with Asperger's, but would like to know any real-life experiences either pro or con.

my first wife was 1 credit short of a degree. She wound up doing bookkeeping (3 double letter combos in that word...;) but I'm sure she's far beyond that now. Pays well, but if you go for any degree, don't look for what's hot right now, but what's going to be hot 4 years from now.

I took enough accounting in college to discover I never wanted to be an accountant.
