Does anyone here agree that Daniel Craig is an awful James Bond? I am saying this because he has no sense of humour put into his role and judging by interviews he appears to have no humour either. He is blonde and is under 6ft, because all the others bonds had dark hair and been over 6feet. I think Pierce Brosnan was a far better James Bond than Craig.

Anybody here agree with my opinion on Daniel Criag

Well, he's certainly different from the other 007's... though I'm not particularly fond of the character in general.

Yeah, Craig is definitely my least favorite Bond. I miss the sense of humor. To me, Craig is kind of boring. I still like the series though.

I like Daniel Craig as Bond. Bond's an assassin and Craig does an excellent job in portraying this and I'm sure that he will get some of his humor back in later movies as Bond becomes increasingly apathetic.

Pierce Brosnan's Bond movies are too cheesy for me and the villains in them are just too stupid ...

You guys are basing this on Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Both films occur during Bond's entry into MI6. He joined under nefarious reasons, and his actions reflect it. The iconic Bond humor will come, but for now this Bond is rough as his persona develops.

I actually like him more. He makes Bond seem more serious, and less ridiculous, like perhaps a real agent/assassin would act.

I'm not really for campy assassins.

Daniel Craig is grittier, meaner, blonder and better. Anyone else think that he's the most attractive bond? Casino Royal was an awesome film. Quantum of Solace was seriously lacking something. Locations? Gadgets? Although the theatre scene...amazing!

I absolutely hate the Daniel Craig Bond.

I used to say that Casino Royale was the worst bond film ever made ... and that Casino Royale was also the second worst bond film ever made.
Unfortunately Quantum of Solace has taken the fun out of that statement by being even worse than those two.

I think I might prefer Woody Allen/Peter Sellers/David Niven to Daniel Craig.

I used to really like Bond.
It was funny, sexy, action packed and light-hearted. A FUN movie to go to. The stories didn't always make great sense and the villains were stereotyped (and always had shark pets and cats) but it was what I expected.

Nowadays, Bond attempts to be Jason Bourne... except that the story is still crap... worse than crap really. Jason Bourne is much more believable - and he has heart. I just don't give a sht about any of the characters in Bond anymore.

There seems to be quite a bit of shock and horror that Bond should actually be something resembling a real movie rather than a spy farce. :roll:

Anyone else ever read the books? Craig is definitely the closest to the literary Bond since the first few that Connery did, and even he didn't smoke and drink nearly enough. The best part about the books was that Bond was very practical, in one he breaks his Rolex using it as a knuckle duster on someone, and for the first few novels he carried a Beretta automatic with the grip plates removed and the front sight sawn off for a faster draw and less printing. Not very sexy, but effective.

In the book of Jaws, the shark got indigestion and simply floated down to die of anoxia.

In the book of Planet of the Apes, they got back to earth and found apes on it.

I could go on but my point is simply that movies are different media with different requirements and different audiences. Not only that but they weren't really following the stories in the flemming books, so why would they feel the need to keep the character the same. They introduced the concept of regneration didn't they? Ok, perhaps not..
