I don't support PETA, but I support animal welfare in general.

I like animals, my meal wouldn't be complete without one.

why couldn't CN decide to remove their 'real fur' items because they wanted to? if PETA get enough wins under their belt some people might be ignorent enough to let them win everytime, when that day comes humanity will surely suffer.

Good question, familiar_stranger. I was not aware CN was even selling them now. Toronto Zoo has not sold such items for a decade, as far as I know.

Common rabbits and especially raccoons are not endangered here in Canada, and are often considered pests, so this may be why no one else spoke up before. I have not seen a rabbit's foot for sale anywhere in a while.

There is a Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), and I have never seen or heard of them protesting, except in the case of domestic farm animals and housepets.

PETA probably think taxidermists are evil even though no animals are harmed as they're already dead, another point they might have a problem with is skinning dead animals so that they don't go to waste.

You say this as if they take dead animal corpses out of the forest Without taxidermy, there would be less reason to kill animals who don't need to die. That being said, the only PETA I'll ever support is People for Eating of Tasty Animals. Nothing like a good dead animal on the dinner plate.

I'll never forget the greatest feature of Casper, WY when I lived there. Two businesses in one building: a taxidermist and the Humane Society.

I'm not a huge fan of fur. I'm glad they removed the items. However I also agree that rather than crediting PETA for the move, the should have just done it without a specific motivator or picked a less.... controversial group.

That's the whole idea. The end result of PETA would be 'animal apartheid'; where humans would be allowed no contact with any non-sapient species (wait...dolphins would be out too...so long, and no more fish...

Good idea, but I'd eat a soy burger and pretend it's real meat just to annoy em, cos I'm a vegetarian, LOL.

Mostly. They also villianize people who eat gummi candy because its made with animal products and anyone who isn't a pure vegan.

I suspect the next thing they'll do is when they protest outside of fast food restaurants, whenever they see a parent with a child entering the restaurant, they'll scream that they're "child abusers" for feeding their children there.
