I took Naproxen (strong painkiller) today and I immediately felt drowsy. That was the first time it happened and I've taken the pill over these last couple of months.
Anyway, I sat down and I usually think about 5 things at once, but for some reason I didn't have a thought in the world. I just sat and watched TV and for the first time I could actually watch it without my mind wandering off.
I was less impatient and less annoyed by things that would drive me crazy too.
My brain felt slower, well, at normal speed.
My imagination was less vivid, which was kind of strange.
I couldn't help wonder if this is what it's like to be NT?

It eventually wore off and I'm back to having 5 thoughts at once while being annoyed at the rustling of someone opening a bag of chips.

Yes, Naproxen sodium has sedating qualities...and can make some people more feel more "sleepy" than others. It works on the prostaglandins, hormone-like substances found in various human body tissues that affect blood pressure, metabolism and smooth muscle activity which is the site of pain. That is why the prescription bottle will state, " Do not operate a motor vehicle while taking this drug."
