Does your voice sound younger than your age?

Now that my birthday is getting closer and closer my voice is getting deeper and deeper so I guess its a phase that we all go through but sounding like a 17 year old for all of those years kind of sucks you know

Well im 19 and from my experience the opposite could be true my voice and body matured early and I have a friend with a monotone bass voice who was mistaken for being a guys 30+ father once. Even though he was only 16 at the time.
I have a pretty mature sounding mid baritone voice.

I think my voice must sound younger because often people will call trying to sell something and they ask if my parents are home.

Absolutely. I always ask when I am talking to someone new over discord. I've had guesses anywhere from 12-16...

Even had one occasion where I was kicked from a guild event on WoW around 2-3 years ago, because they absolutely did not believe I was an adult. I was already shy about speaking, that did not help for awhile. Bah.

For me it fluctuates widely based on my mood. I can go from having a deeper, authoritarian sounding voice to having a soft and more child-like voice. Really, it would be convenient if I had better control over it.

On a related note, I often hear that my face looks 5-10 years younger then my age.

If I've got my social mask on, my voice is usually really feminine and high pitched, but when I'm relaxed and talking to people I feel comfortable with, it's lower and probably sounds more appropriate for my actual age.
