I just ramble, and rant, and eventually someone comments "you realize nobody cares" and I respond "I'm used to that, I don't care either."

oh yeah, group conversations are a nightmare. I've long ago stopped trying. I guess to be part of the conversation you have to have a place in the pecking order, which Aspies don't have.

I find that some people are pretty good at overlooking me when I join a conversation.

I just don't see the point in talking anymore. Even to my parents.

I know what you mean there seems no point most days to talk to people other than my best friend who never treats me bad. everyone else seems to give me hard time alot of, or most times <(not sure if that made sense).

I notice it also happens at a few places where I post. It hasn't happened here, but it is commonplace on political websites.

This happens to me rather often: it is not always easy to enter group conversation from the first attempt and in appropriate manner. I usually listen to conversation a while, receive topic and emotional context (it is even more important in usual chit-chatting), then try to reply somebody or insert my own answer. Sometimes several attempts are required, but I think, it is rather common thing even for NT, they just can do it more elegant, less annoying and more "automatic" :)

P.S. Sometimes not being able to enter group conversation may mean, that they are not wanting you enter it. It may be understood by short and emotionally cold or negative answers.

I'm the loud side of things. Heard, no problem, making them understand what I'm trying to say(I'm fluent in 3 languages) and them listening to me before they do something stupid, thats another thing

I do phase out a bit when chatting, or something im not remotely interested i phase out, or i have problems understanding people. It is tiring as it requires a lot of energy to do it.

But one thing is for sure, people always tell me "speak lower !"
