did ya check their site?...;) It's possible.

I know Dell and IBM make longer-life batteries. They tend to hang out over the edge of the laptop, tho...

By longer life, do you mean more longer running time per charge or more charges before you have to replace the battery?

The best place to look is eBay, or another third party supplier. Simply, because it's cheaper. And usually, they are the same battery you'd buy from the manufacturer, just without the manufacturer's badge on it.

For example, I got a quote from Dell for a 9 cell battery for this laptop. $192AU. I got an IDENTICAL (other than it doesn't have a Dell badge on it) off eBay for $90AU (shipping included). Absolute bargain.

I have a Toshiba and replaced the batteries in it because they were short lived. I got replacement batteries at http://www.batterytech.com/. They lasted longer and have more battery life than the stock batteries.

Some OEM batteries are terrible. Dell ones are awful. Just read the customer feed back. yes you can get them on ebay.
