I won't give an itemized list here, but I have ONE thing I bet a lot of you guys are gonna envy. My mom gave it to me. Here's the story behind it:

I wanted to watch the Chronicles of Narnia so naturally I wanted to have read the book more recently than five years ago, so I bought this one-volume edition of all the chronicles (I'm currently halfway through ALL the books and finished TL, TW and TW off in one day, it's a kids book so that's not impressive of course) and on Christmas day my mom said it was "dangerous" to buy yourself something liek that so close to Christmas. So, of course, I assumed she had bought me that book, and kept asking her why she hadn't stopped me from buying it in the store- because I had been with her!

Well, I decided to open the narnia book I assumed she'd gotten me first to get it over with (she said she had a reciept). Much to my surprise, she had TOTALLY psyched me out- and gotten me the DSM-IV-TR! OMFG!! !

So, anyway, any of you guys jealous? :P ((I hope the poll's not too mean, I just figured with this crowd, a few people would think it an especially awesome gift. I'll delete the poll if you guys think it's too awful.))

That, of course, and diagnostic features, associated features, gender and age features, prevalence (actually, it just says we don't have this info), course (you don't get over it, of course, but adjustment is possible), familial pattern, and associated disorders. I don't want to copy it all down here but that's what it covers.

I'd be jealous if I didn't already have it, ;) lol. NOW you can play psychiatrist as much as yer little ol' heart desires.

But by 2011, both of ours will be outta date. Oh well. Another Christmas present in the making.

Well, this one will hold me through grad school, so by the time it comes out again I may be able to afford the new one. ((Please god let me get into grad school, then get a job soon out of it))

I forget. Are you going for Masters or for PhD? I know my DSM won't last me through grad school since I've got at least another 7.5 years of school left. :?

You're planning on a Master, right? Since you're wanting to become a therapist. Are you getting your Masters in Social Work? Or going for PhD in Psychology?
