This looks cool. This speaks to a lot of aspies here who love language AND movies.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/ ... cnnSTCText

In the meantime, what are favorite movie quotes? What do you say most? And which ones do you hate?

Favorite
"You're going to need a bigger boat."
"Life is like a box of chocolate."
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning!"
"Was it over when the Germans bombed pearl harbor?"
"I feel the need, the need for speed!"
"Someone step on a duck?"
"It rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again."

Most Used
"What's your favorite color?" (Holy Grail - I say it when I have to go through a ridicules gate way at work or in life.)
"Eleeeeven." (Anytime I have to say the number 11)
"You can't handle the truth!" (Corny but so often apropos)
"America, f***, yeah!! !"
"Shake and bake!" (With fist bump) (Just because Talladega Nights has been on a lot lately)

Least Favorite
"I'm the king of the world!"
"You had me at hello..." :eew:

I'm sure others will come to me...

What movies are those from??

I quote Friends a lot, cos it's my favourite show. Once people were ignoring me in group work at school, so I said, "When the packaging's this pretty, no-one cares what's inside!"

Ha ha! Did Chandler say it?

I remember that one - it was Butters in the hole and Cartman torturing him, right?

Not familiar with "Two Pints..." - there's also a painfully cheesy country song based on that line. (The singer, Toby Keith?, was involved with Rene Zellwigger - whirlwind kind of thing - ended badly. OMG! I'm so embarressed I know that! I don't, however, know the song. But its not too hard to imagine. (Sappy slow song - they're all pretty much the same.)

Yeah, it was when Chandler was in the bath with bubbles and candles and stuff, and he had a toy boat so he wouldn't seem too effeminate, then he said something that sounded girly so he says, "I'm gonna need a bigger boat!"

Yeah.

It's a British show, I don't think it's broadcast in America.

After we steal it and make an American version - like how we get all our favorite shows - we'll call it: "Two Buds - draft - and an order of chips and salsa."

Here's one I rediscovered from the original Back to the Future:

I'm sure that in 1985 plutonium is available in every corner drug store, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by. (Doctor Emmet Brown, unaware that his 1985 counterpart stole the plutonium used to power the DeLorean from Libyan terrorists)

One from Back to the Future that I still do even though its kind of old: "McFly? Hello, McFly???"

The plutonium in the drug store quote recalls one from John Carradine in "The Unearthly", 1957...

"Why is it impossible?... because it can't be bought in a drug store!! !"

Before he says, "What I am working on, people say is beyond the realm of possibility. But believe me, it is not impossible."

George: Only one way you can help me. Y-You don't happen to have eight thousand bucks on you?

Clarence: Oh, no, no. We don't use money in heaven.

George: Oh, that's right, I keep forgetting. Comes in pretty handy down here, bub.

My favorite exchange from Its a Wonderful Life.

"I´ll get you, my pretty...and your little dog too!"

I also like the quote from Woody Allen, where he compares life to a conversation 2 old ladies had in a restaurant: Lady A-"The food here is really terrible". Lady B-"Yeah, and such small portions!"

Here is something I used to say a lot: "Oh dear, the radio´s exploded..." "Well what´s on the tele then?" "Looks like a penguin." (Just for the heck of it)

But one of my favorite quotes is MY quote below, which comes from the film "The Fountain":

"You have to ask yourself one question- do I feel lucky?
well do ya, punk?"

lol, I love this one. I also quote the "napalm in the morning" quite a lot.

then there's "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse" and "good old fashioned greed", or "I see dead people" (my friends always takes the piss out of that). "say hello to my little friend" and "you f**k with me, you f**k with the best" are also in common use among the people I know.

I often quote random films in everyday occasions (like "open the pod bay doors Hal" :P ), me and my close friends like similar films so we often "speak film". it fun!

and a few more faves:

"-have you ever been in love?
-no, I've been a bartender all my life"

"-what are you rebelling against?
-what have you got?"
