You see the clever girl looks for a clever boy
To another extent than the clever boy
Will ever look for a mate
Who goes to round-table debates
And runs a little bit late
When she does work for the state

You see the clever girls look for a clever boys
And then the clever boys seem to have a different choice
They want a good-looking chick
That likes to blow them away
Someone who laughs at all the
Funny little things they say

I have a friend who's in this Mensa club
He has no trouble to admit
He wants a woman with ambitions
That go as far as raising kids

We have our fair share of clever boys and girls here at WP, so what do you think? Is it really the case that "Clever Girls Like Clever Boys Much More Than Clever Boys Like Clever Girls"?

Are all intelligent men uninterested at best and intimidated at worst? Would you prefer (if you had your pick of the crop) to go for the less cerebral, non-bookish, conventionally feminine but slightly dithering every-girl.

It sounds terribly chauvinist, but I honestly believe most men, being honest, desire a woman who simply looks good, has traditionally female interests and who is more likely to stay home and raise the children.

Give me a woman with brains. And I am not alone, just go to the thread about girls with glasses. A common theme amongst the guys is the (false) assumption that a woman with glasses is more likely to be intelligent.

Men usually find my intelligence intimidating. That's why I don't date anymore. :(

I will be honest and say that I prefer a woman to have a equal or lesser IQ than myself. A super genius could be intimidating.

I absolutely favor intelligent women. Otherwise it's boring.

I'd rather have a girl that has brains instead of some stupid barbie doll look-alike -.- .

Men generally don't want clever women much. Cleverness is practically meaningless outside of a display context, and women don't display that way. Although I would imagine it has eugenic connotations :chin:

I'm not gonna lie, I'd prefer a cute girl, but intelligence is a trait I value above all else. So yea I definitely like clever girls.

Personally, i just want someone at or close to my intelligence level.
I honestly wouldn't mind someone who's smarter than me, as long as i'm not left feeling like a complete idiot.
On the other hand , i honestly don't think a relationship with someone less intelligent than i am would work, Stupidity is one of the traits in people that i can't STAND.

So , yes, i honestly prefer smart women.

Clever girls like clever boys?

I am the most clever person alive yet clever girls do not seem to like me.

It must have to do with my lack of self confidence. I'm just too humble for my own good. :P

If I were to guess as to the reason clever guys prefer not so clever girls I would say the reason is that clever guys think dumb girls are gullible girls (how clever of them). Yes, that's right, men are generally jerks. :o

Nothingunusual,
I don't get why you're asking this question. You are challenging the guys to come up with arguments against an unfounded accusation.

Why do people make it sound like that's a bad thing? Look, it means that we guys who do like intelligent women have less competition!

Yes, but do you really believe most men are clever? I don't!

I'm gay but I can't imagine being with someone who wasn't intelligent. That doesn't mean I don't value physical attributes too (I guess it's just biology), but I can't stand being around unintelligent people in any situation. Being dumb is about the biggest turn-off I can think of.

The common "popular girl"-type (The type with the huge smiles and the loud voices, if you don't know what I mean.) usually disgust me a little. I guess they work well for pornography, but that's about all. And even in pornogaphy, they turn me off if they talk. Because they say stupid things.

Library-experience and geekery turn me on.

Honestly, I find Janeane Garofalo far more attractive than Angelina Jolie (though still hot on her own).
