As a "Buddhist" I do not worship anything or anyone. The whole concept of worship (or prayer) sounds ridiculous to me.

I worship logic and reason because it's all I have.

I don't worship logic and reason nor do I worship my electric drill or my shoes. I use them because they make sense.

I would have included...

"I worship only the voices in my head."

... but mine told me not to.

We aren't all mad here! I've just been chatting over lunch with the hatter and the hare and they agree. Well I think the hare agreed, he had to rush off somewhere. More tea anyone?

Great question...for someone like me who takes these questions seriously. (Especially since I'm supposed to be doing something else right now.) :?

I worship the universe but I just figured it out. Because I believe it when I say, "the universe gives us what we need if we 'put it out there'." Or that the universe sends signs. Or I'll throw something into the universe - with the knowledge it will come back to me (random acts of kindness).

The only supernatural thing (except Bigfoot) that I really believe in is that the universe has a rhythm and power of its own that we can channel through faith in our own positive thoughts and our self-worth.

Really new age, hippie stuff but you made me realize I believe it so that's kind of like worship - if worshipping indicates a spiritual letting go of reason and logic. Logically speaking, that is.

From Merriam-Webster.com: wrote:
Main Entry: 1: wor·ship
Pronunciation: \ˈwər-shəp also ˈwȯr-\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English worshipe worthiness, respect, reverence paid to a divine being, from Old English weorthscipe worthiness, respect, from weorth worthy, worth + -scipe -ship
Date: before 12th century

1: (chiefly British) a person of importance —used as a title for various officials (as magistrates and some mayors)
2: reverence offered a divine being or supernatural power; also, an act of expressing such reverence
3: a form of religious practice with its creed and ritual
4: extravagant respect or admiration for or devotion to an object of esteem <worship of the dollar>

While being anachronistic, the first definition is still one that is uncomfortable for me. The fourth is exactly as described - extravagant - and therefore unpalatable and tend to lead to blindness. I do not practice a ritual or follow a specific organized program of thought, leading me to discard the third definition, and not believing in a figurehead or personification of the whole of existence, the second is refused as well. Wanted to come back to this one, gave me pause for some thought.

I voted for "There is no-one and nothing deserving of my worship" because it was the option that fit the closest although it's not completely accurate. I don't worship nothing because I don't think anything is deserving of my worship, I'm not that special! The reason I don't is because I don't have a need to. I'm not religious & also, I can still respect things on this earth without devoting a part of my life to them.

Why in the hell would anyone do that? Nationalism is a bigoted position and the leaders are all a bunch of corrupt douch bags anyway.
