When it come to the formation of songs I just don't know where to begin. In all honesty I've never wrote a full song- only snippets like the odd four bars.
I just have a lack of inspiration- or when I'm inspired I struggle to get my ideas to sound like I want.
I don't play with other musicians as I'm far too coy.
Can I have tips on how to start etc?

A lot of rock bands start off like you desribe, they might have a groundbreaking innovative sound, great individual ideas but end up sounding like a lot of bits cobbled together. The 'classic' songs from that era, although having a certain magic perhaps came about almost by accident. It can take years and several recordings for the structural skills to fully develop and blossom into proficient and consistent songwriting.

So, your in good company :)
