What's the point? If we're born, we die, and then inevitably, the world ends and we ALL die, whats the point of bein here when we are? There's no way to prevent death, no way to prevent humanitys end. So, why?

The point is to live. Why is life more acceptable if you don't die? Make the most of it while it lasts.

Why not?

And I'm sure you're already aware that technically there's not really a "purpose". But hey, if there was one wouldn't that just take away the joy of making one up?

The point is to grasp the "understanding";
What
Why
Who
Where &
How

Standing in a bucket of water for 80 years is as meaningful as standing in a bucket of water for an eternity.

compare the submolecular universe to the biggest picture of the expanding universe you can find.

the purpose is simple. we, as an organism, just aren't complicated to get it yet.

don't hate the christians for grasping at the short term "what will happen to me when i die?"

all there is, all there was, and all there ever may be all add up to one thing: momentum.

don't be afraid to move around in the dark.

just because you don't know what's next doesn't mean you shouldn't try to get there.

don't give up the momentum.

Our purpose is the same as every other species, to procreate, and then die.

There's more to a book than the first and last page, and more to a life than birth and death.

And what if that truth is not discoverable?

Love this.

Basically you should stop thinking that you matter, because in the grand scheme of things, you don't. There doesn't have to be a reason or a purpose, and in all likelihood, there isn't. All you have is what you make of it, so do what you want.

exactly.

there is no "why"

humans have invented "why", we basically pulled it out of our ass, and applied it to reality, and reality's all "hey, get that stinky poop-ridden 'why' off my back, dude!"

reality and existence need no reason.
we're here cus we're.

The purpose of humanity/human beings is to function as a substrate for the birth, evolution, growth and reproduction of the "life-form" language, in the same way as the "purpose" of carbon molecules and related molecular structures was/is to give birth to plant and animal life. :D

After thousands of years of relatively "flat"/one-dimensional "life", ( language seen/experienced, and created too, as if it was a simple representation of reality; words as supposedly "transparent" symbols for the world ), language acquired a "cell wall", with the invention, in the last 100 years or so, of semiotics, deconstructionist analysis, post-stucturalism, etc; language/words which make the boundaries/limitations of language visible, and which make of language an entity in its own right.
