Do you like heights?

Yeah I like heights. I feel mesmerized by heights. People sometimes have to give out to me, because if I'm on a high structure near a drop I always have the urge to see if I can jump and not hurt myself, things like that.

but i get so much of a rush when i look down its so cool i dont want anyone behind when im looking down tho and push me over.

This sounds exactly like my life i_wanna_blue...right down to loving Prince of Persia!! I come alive when I am up high, but, like mechanicalgirl, I too get this overwhelming impulse to jump sometimes! I think I could even get to space one day and still want to go higher.

As a kid I loved to climb things, but I then I became afraid of heights. I think it happened after I had to jump off a roof because my mum was inside chatting for hours, so she couldn't help me get down. I injured my legs pretty badly.

I've never read that before.

Anyway, I think heights are fun. I'm not sure why I've just always liked being up high, especially if I get to come down on a huge flying fox, giant swing or a jump.

That reminds me of when I was younger, I was on top of a jungle gym type contraption. It was pretty high and I needed to get down... my Mom pleasantly informed me that there was two ways down... climb down or jump. I chose jump and kind of hurt myself, that wasn't the choice my Mom thought I would take. I think I internally justified jumping because I could tumble and wouldn't get all mangled by the contraption.

i_wanna_blue, I'm not that fond of heights mainly from a unpleasant experience as a child but, overall I'm okay with such in the general manner just, don't ask me to go crossing any bridges anytime soon.. Walk across them that is.

I remember my mum once having to shout at me to discourage me from climbing on the edge of a viaduct.

This bridge is about 30 feet up I think. You can walk across it and the walls are about chest height. I was 14/15 at the time, and every time I walked there I'd start getting a little adrenaline rush and really want to walk on the walls. I got in such a fixated state I was going to actually do it. I heard my mum's voice yelling 'Jess! Don't you dare walk on that wall! You'll break your back falling and never move again!' and came out of my reverie a little.

I'm much more self controlled these days, happily.

Yes. I get a huge rush when I'm on a mountain top looking down. I don't necessarily like being near the edge of something I could fall off. It's the extremely vast scale and depth / three-dimensionality of mountain vistas that I like. It gives me this beautiful Zen-like high feeling where I can just sit and stare for an indefinite amount time.

If you could dig up a reference for that it would be great, it sounds like alot of us experience something similar, from interactions with NT's on the subject we all appear to have this in common.
From a very young age I loved climbing trees or anything else I could this developed into rock climbing and latter skydiving, standing on the edge looking down 15,00ft is one of the few times I feel comfortable i mean the 1st step is a doosie but i could stand their all day watching the clouds at my feet. I take alot of panoramic photography at lookouts and cliff edges and im building a boom so i can take them from several meters out looking straight down, its interesting how how this could be having a positive effect on my creative side.
