Are they effective or are they just a nuisance and noise pullutant? It seems the latter.

I don't think I've ever known anybody, on hearing a car alarm, shout, "Oh no! Someone's car is being stolen!"

A nuisance. Most people assume it went off because it was set too sensitive.

Even if I saw somebody stealing a car or bike with one of those alarms fitted, I wouldnt call the Police, I would think, "Good, no more having to liston to that blasted Alarm every single day"!

And why do the sodding things have to make a 500 decibal bleep every time the owner gets in the car!.
