Anyone else love house? I am obsessed with this show merely because of the main character, Dr. House. He doesn't care about political correctness. He is rude to everyone equally (although he actually shows discretion with who he hates and who he doesn't hate).
The whole concept of the show is interesting, although not that realistic, but it makes for great television!
I love that show - I usually don't watch network TV - but I love that show . . . and Hugh Laurie just blows my mind - if you see an interview with him on a talk show or something - he has a strong English accent - you'd never guess it in the show . . .
And there are aspects of House that are very AS . . .
Did you know Hugh Laurie is a famous English comic/actor? (he was great in Blackadder3)
Just wondered if its obvious to genuine americans?
Yep, I recognized him ('cause I like Black Adder). But truly, by his accent you can't tell he's not American. It's really excellent. Kudos to Hugh! (He's got the best US accent I've ever heard a Brit use. Truly. 'Cause I frequently watch BBC America and there have been some aweful doozies.)
I also adore the show, though I'm not always able to watch it. But I plan on buying the first season on DVD within the next couple of months.
It appears that he represents all of the things that people want to do, but don't because of social norms. He is always himself, no matter what situation. In many ways, this can become to be very funny.

Thats more or less what Larry David does in 'curb your enthusiasm', but in a completely different format.
