As a kid, I didn't like to read, I abhored it. I read well and spelling was no problem, but I hated reading because I couldn't figure out what the author was conveying. I understood the words and their meaning, but for the meaning of the story, forget it. I found watching tv to be a better mediun for understanding concepts and such because I could see what was happening. You can't get that in books unless one has an imagination and can visualize the words into objects.

Now that I'm older, I like reading. Internet is the main source of material, but I also have a few magazines like The Freeman and AOPA Pilot. I read several forums and other sites, and I can understand their concepts and messages. It seems that reading has become easier and more plesant.

I'm curious if any of ya'll possibly had a similar experience with reading?

I still hate reading novels though.
