The ones that still get me are those that aren’t presented often enough for me to have a previously worked out interpretation for them. For instance, my boss once asked me to check the antifreeze in the trucks (we had about 6 of them). I did so, and since he had left for the day by the time I was finished, I made up a nice little matrix showing the results, left it on his desk, and left for the day. Next day I caught hell because I hadn’t added more antifreeze as needed. To this day I believe that the amount of information provided was NOT enough for me to make that determination.

My wife has had a very difficult time with my diagnosis and will sometimes berate me for not “figuring out” what was meant by a statement. Her position is that I’m smart enough to do that. She fails completely to understand that that’s just not the way my brain works. Conversation is in the moment, analysis is not.
