Joan Baez isn't "rock and roll" either, but somehow she'll receive less complaints about her inclusion than Tupac. Funny how that works. I wholly supported the inclusion of the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and especially Run DMC into the HoF because they at least had elements of rock in thei...

I don't like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; I think it's an entirely meaningless achievement to get in, and clearly it's less of an indicator of actual artistry and quality than it is just a popularity contest. That being said, though, I'm still happy to see Yes get inducted, simply because any pub...

'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' 'The Exorcist III' 'Halloween III: Season of the Witch' 'A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors' 'Friday the 13th Part 3' (though part IV was the best of the series) 'Last Crusade' is fantastic, but I can't say I like it m...

I've heard the name before but that's all. I'll give them a listen. Good luck with that, and I mean it. Between 22 albums, 17 EPs and six box sets (not to mention 22 Robert Pollard solo albums and a combined 34+ albums from side projects), it's less of a band and more of a religion. Most people sta...

I'm not big into the "indie rock" scene as a whole (at least what can be differentiated from "alternative" and "college rock"), but Guided By Voices is one of the greatest bands in the history of rock n' roll.

By saying "could" instead of "couldn't", doesn't that mean you do give a s***, when you're capable of giving less of one?

And yes, I really tried to hold back on the passive-aggressive grammar nerdlery, but I'm a weak individual. :(

I love Blur and think Pulp's Jarvis Cocker is a brilliant songwriter, but I can't stand Oasis. That's the fullest extent of my Britpop knowledge. However, I never thought to include Manic Street Preachers as part of the scene; they didn't really get the same kind of press as Oasis or Blur and their ...

I was never raised in any manner of religion, but I've always considered myself a spiritual person. Around my teens I began accepting the cosmological notion of a higher power and spent several years studying and practicing various belief systems, including Christianity, Unitarian Universalism and n...

Agreed. I think we're all too eager to start living in a 'Jetsons'-type future, but the technology just seemingly isn't there yet. I can't even trust my phone with auto-correct, much less trust a car to run by itself on the freeway. Maybe in 20-50 years the technology will be perfected, but I'd rath...

I feel more or less comfortable driving a car, which is good since I tend to drive quite a bit. I've never been in any accidents and have never gotten so much as a ticket. I honestly don't trust the concept of "self-driving cars", not even a little bit. I'd sooner try to drive with my feet...

I have good news for you, if you are 25 as your profile states. In general, you have 35 years until you'll need one of these tests. You can get one at any age if there's a reason to do so. I'm 28 and I got one at around 25 because I experienced some mild bleeding and had a family history of IBD; I ...

Having been called it one too many times back in my youth, I'm...not entirely fond of it. Context does matter and I've heard it used innocuously enough in certain contexts by people who meant nothing by it, but I'm personally against the word in any form that's not entirely technical (i.e. "fla...
