This has been a long discussion and I thought of not adding to it but couldn't let it go... For certain self-diagnosed adults like myself it's enough to have had the "Aha!" moment that pulled so many things together - habits, patterns, blind-spots, intensity of interest(s) and aversion(s), both thos... |

Royger, pick & choose what you like and ignore the rest. Think of it like an introduction to what it'll be like to work after graduation... lots of people, many personalities, many attitudes that you've got to tolerate either because you like the work itself, just a few of the people or maybe ju... |

I think the main point of aspie/aspie pairings is embracing mutual weirdness, not denying it. |

Yes, yes, yes, it's the best, as long as each is accepting of the other's quirks. There's no need to act, no need to defend or hide. I'm the messy one, he's the neat one - we both clean and he laughs when he finds a bra flung over a lampshade. I don't laugh when he folds his clothes as he puts them ... |

I think talking aloud is a way of establishing and maintaining focus by engaging speech and hearing, getting thoughts out of the mind and into the external world. Coworkers notice that I say "OK" when ending one task and getting started on another. |

May his memory be for a blessing. What I won't miss, however, are the strips about the 'fat broad' and those that insisted that Christianity is the only way to be in relationship with G-d. I still cringe when I think of the 2001 Easter Sunday strip that showed a menorah becoming a cross. He never un... |

If this question is just a matter of curiosity, fine and dandy.
Otherwise, who gives a rat's patoot? Isn't substance valued more than quantity? Or is that what you were getting at hale_bopp? |

Not only do you belong here, we need a leader. OK, I agree that Carol definitely belongs here, and I honor her elder status,. I DON'T agree that WE need a leader. Merle Merle, I, too, chafe at the idea that a leader of any kind is needed. Perhaps that comes of having been around when the Equal Righ... |

Well, hi there.
From what I can gather (as a newbie here myself) few set out to offend and when it happens accidently all seems to be quickly forgiven. I hope this is your experience as well. |

Why on earth would anyone want to criticize you? WP seems welcoming to everyone. Granted, you've been here a few weeks longer than I have so maybe you've witnessed others being criticized. I do cringe a bit when I see the dead-looking goat in the picture you posted but I realize I'm overly sensitive... |

....or it could be seasonal allergies... I get what you describe when tree pollen is active and a Benadryl or its equivalent always shuts down the sensation. Benadryl does raise blood sugar levels though, so if you're diabetic please check with your physician before taking it. |

The very same message appeared the morning after I registered HERE, and it had never appeared before. Nothing seemed/seems to be working differently though, so I (perhaps stupidly) chose to ignore it. |

adding to what I just posted... The friends I listed I met in-person and am in regular telephone, email and in-person contact (some several times daily) with each. Over the years I've met some who live at a distance for vacations. Those who live near me I meet to share meals, at restaurants or at on... |

One 34 years - we lived on the same dorm floor. Two 33 years - First I met lst day on college campus, the second I dated spring semester of... |
