I was born in 1971, over 20 years before Asperger's was even a formal diagnosis. People still though autism was a form of childhood schizophrenia and I can't recall anybody discussing a spectrum back in those days. It's not like today where teachers, school therapists (didn't have one at my schools)... |

The one thing I am really good at is piano. I can see the shapes and patterns needed to play chords quickly and I can learn them quickly. I don't think I'm great at picking up patterns elsewhere in life but for some reason I can see them on a piano. I'm not sure why it makes so much sense. |

I've done this many times. I often feel my input is probably the last thing someone needs or can relate to. |

I thought it had something to do with emotions but a search revealed that it is from the Japanese for picture letter or picture character . Emoticon is also used as well as smiley. To me Mr Green looks like someone who's awfully pleased with himself for just coming up with a rather silly but someho... |

I believe it's what is known as a "s**t eating grin" and he turned green because it is making him sick. I kind of like this explanation. I thought "Mr. Green" was a smiley representation of a person being daring, but endearingly naïve in being daring. And the Ninja was the smile... |

How are you supposed to use the mr. green emoji?
I have put him in posts before but to be honest I have no idea what he represents. |

You bring up some really interesting points. I identify with the "second type" of AS you mentioned (that Max has). I was diagnosed late in life. You theorized that Max's type might have never had sensory problems pronounced enough to be seen as an issue. Mine, in fact, were very severe. I ... |

I can relate to this. My brain is at its best when it's locked in on an interesting topic. It's kind of magical. I wish I could stay in that state for longer amounts of time. If the conversation is interrupted it's like having a rug yanked out from beneath me. |

I followed music with all my heart and joined a band. I pursued that full-time as a career for 7 years. Unfortunately, my taste in music was not at all what the masses (or even the niche music crowds) liked. We never could make it work on a big enough level to make a living at it. I loved it (and ha... |

I have actually been studying this for awhile, and it's my opinion that the "creepy" feeling comes from the neurotypical getting the subconscious idea that the aspie is pretending to be a regular person. Yes, those who are not pretending dont appear creepy. With faking to be NT the distan... |

I watched some of the videos related to this on YouTube and it was pretty amazing. There is one of a lady whispering for about 8 minutes and it was the most incredibly relaxing thing ever. The feeling I got was a warm sensation in my brain down through my spine. It was kind of like quick meditation.... |
