Do you have any special area of interest or any talents?
I know that a lot of Aspies are bad at math and hate science, I hate that generalization.

A good skill to have you could be very successful lol. You probably have autism and psychopath traits but in reality nothing is so black and white and you can improve and learn more always; someone could build a new personality and become almost a completely different person if they wanted to and w...

I have always heard people in the autism community talk about special talents and abilities they believe their autism grants them. Most of the time the talents I hear about are engineering, mechanics, mathematics, and anything computer related (don't hate me for generalizing). I felt cheated for jus...

NEtikiman and nyxjord I appreciate both of your posts and understand completely. I am definitely noticing my past more now than ever and I am embracing my self now and no longer feeling like I need to blend. This forum really helps with that, if people don't like who I am, they don't have to deal wi...

Diagnosed - what next? There may be an existential dilemma then the process of some cognitive restructuring, because the self-identity you had is no longer complete and unchanged. Essentially it's back to the big picture question which typically occurs to most people during late adolescence or earl...

I was with you until this this....It went from being somewhat factual to sounding like conspiracy theories that aren't grounded in any form of proof.

Here's my response to the topic itself. I understand that feeling of accepting autism as a part of your life. From my experience, "accepting" autism is sort of like acknowledging that you broke up with someone. You get all these questions about life, you feel lied to, and sometimes you wi...

I was officially diagnosed today with Asperger's. I don't know how to feel about it That's not unusual at all. its a complete change in your lifelong self-identification and it will probably take a while to sink in. It really took me about a year to fully absorb it, during which I went from exhilar...

Hozier, the Irish singer songwriter that is well known for "Take Me To Church" his lyrics, personality, awkwardness, shyness, the way he speaks in interviews....I would bet money on him having Aspergers, I just get that vibe from him.

My therapist is looking for groups around me now. I've been looking around online, I hope to find something soon. I am excited to meet people, face to face, that share my feelings and thoughts.

I was officially diagnosed today with Asperger's. I don't know how to feel about it, usually it takes a while for me to acknowledge that something has happened and to develop any feels towards it. I guess I feel more validated at least and I know I'm not alone now. I have been searching for this ans...

I ask people to stop making certain noises all the time ( jingling keys, sniffing, tapping, chewing, slurping, ANY MOUTH SOUND) they all get upset with me. If I wear headphones or something to drown out t...
