Hello. I'm just wondering something. Trying to communicate a lot of things, particularly my thoughts and feelings about things takes a huge amount of effort and difficulty and is extremely draining. I use writing a lot as a tool to help me communicate a lot of the time, as although this is still dra... |

Thanks for your reply. It's not feeling stupid about mistakes but just finding things difficult or challenging and needing to do things differently or needing extra support and so worrying about what people think. I am in my first year of studying Biosciences. I'm not entirely sure which area specif... |

I want to not care and simply do what I need to do to get through things and even try to achieve the best I can in whatever I'm trying to do but I can't help but feel kind of stupid and worry about what people think about me, for needing to do things differently or needing extra support with some th... |

Thanks, I think I'm going to need it. I have mental health issues (eating disorder, currently in recovery, ocd, anxiety and depression) on top of my autism but no physical disability or learning disability. The stress of the process almost makes you not want to bother but you have to :-( We had some... |

I always used to have my music headphones with me but obviously some situations I'm not supposed /allowed to wear them. So I originally used a sort of soft rubber/silicone pair, then found silicone ones you could mould to fit your ear. They sounded a better idea than they are but they work to some e... |

Thanks for your reply honestnerd98. Unfortunately we have to wear lab coats and sunglasses would not be allowed. I am definitely wearing my 'Earpeace' earplugs next session which reduce the level of noise without reducing the quality of sound. I'm considering wearing my baseball cap too. I am also l... |

I'm not sure this will be much help but if you're in the UK you can apply for something called 'Brain in Hand'. It's what I use at the moment. You have to get it through Disabled Students Allowance though. |

Good points, thanks. I think part of my difficulty with the video though, is how do I cover such a wide spectrum? Some points that I definitely want to include are: - That the spectrum is more 3D than 2D. By that I mean, you can't be 'a bit autistic' or 'very autistic', you're either autistic or you... |

I'm currently training to take part in a local swim to raise some funds for my local autism trust. As part of this I'm thinking about creating a short educational/informational video. My question atm is this: I would obviously include the full term 'aspergers' and/or 'autism' but out of the two term... |
