Generally, only to look out for the well-being of me, my family or friends. I don't like to lie to impress or fool others. My gf and I have three kids. But if one of them is feeling super sh-tty in the morning (not sick, but maybe really anxious or depressed), we have no problem telling the school t...

As a matter of fact.... I will deal with it. But if you could do the rest of us a favor... stop commenting on things you really don't contribute to and dont know sh-t about. You lay guilt trips on people even when they are trying to better themselves. When you are right and someone admits it, someh...

Not for nothing.... but are those other people having that much fun? I get the fear of missing out, really, one regret I have is trying to get what your talking about.... it really messed up how I presented myself to others for a time, but when I got to hang out with these people, I was still not ha...

Plants may have feelings.... but. When you consider fruit, you are generally not harming or killing the plant (fruits fall off trees or plants, and as a means of propogation). Hypothetically, there are other vegetables, you can cultivate in a manner that makes them heartier.... It's an interesting t...

I love this thread. But one thing I would point out.... your politics are not, by necessity, attached to your morals. I.e., in theory you could live under a benevolent fascist and everyone gets along and lives well (I admit this is not likely, but I think you can imagine it), likewise, you could liv...

1. We were classmates and in a small study group. I missed cues for about a year and we started dating. Awful break up --in the sense i didn't see it coming and fell apart. 2. Met through a dating app. Became the most miserable years in my life. Awful break up, in the sense I moved to a hotel while ...

I'm sorry. That's a hard one to repair the damage (if at all). My girlfriend, and our roommate too, have had issues with our local art and music community along similar lines, and it has made it very hard for them to get the opportunities showcase or perform locally. When "harmless" gossip...

If anyone has, I don't know. When I hear gossip, usually I'll let the person get it out, then let them know it's none of my business (or something along that line). On another note, though, "gossip" is a bit of a loaded word. It implies negative, but that doesn't have to be the case. Can w...

For discussions like this, are we distinguishing between discrimination and marginalization?

They can be equally harmful, but they are not the same. It would determine whether or not I agree with the original statement.
