Hi again - Marknis, on another thread I made a comment about employers chasing shiny objects... this is what that means: it's like the entire management has ADHD and goes running madly after every new fad, every new gadget, every new piece of software, every new buzzword. They confuse novelty with ...

Again and again I see uninformed people saying that carbs are bad and telling people to cut them out to lose weight. On another website someone actually called potatoes junk food! Potatoes are perfectly good and nutritious food, just like brown rice, whole grains, fruit, veggies, and legumes. Prote...

I know this is a very old thread but I had to say my piece as well. I've always found the West Coast to be a very neurotypical place in its mannerisms and I agree with a couple of other posters on here that the West Coast is NOT a good place if you are an Aspie. I didn't find it to be a particularly...

We don't have places like Costco where I live, so I couldn't shop there if I wanted to anyway.

And believe me, that is a good thing!

Anytime I heard this stupid, useless advice I usually commented that if they are willing to come up with a solid, constructive, realistic plan I am willing to follow it to the letter: not once did anybody take me up on that. My ex friend's favorite phrase was "it's all in your attitude". ...

aikoinazuma granted. however, i have applied for plenty of minimum wage jobs, and many of them had personality tests. so what, if employers that give personality tests are bad employers? there are so many of them, it is not practical to just correctly conclude that they would have been bad employer...

I've worked in fast food, retail, and performing for tourist trap shows in my 18 years of life, but have never been somewhere as demanding as my current job. I'm taking a semester off of college to figure out my finances, find a decent place to settle, and adjust to working here (because I will hav...

I know that a lot of people like Costco but I think that they are way overrated, to be nice about it. I have gone into the store a few times and it seems like the whole place is some creepy cult. My family buys a lot from the place but thankfully there are other stores around here to buy stuff from ...

The oldest thing I own that I can roughly confirm the age of is a weather barometer that my great-grandparents owned from the 1940s. I have some river rocks from Southern IL that could be much older (thousands of years old?) but I have not been able to determine how old they are.

I am going to break somewhat with what other people are saying here. I'd say that a parent who is angry over a kid's grades alone has mental issues. There are many reasons why a child gets bad grades and it's not always the child's fault. I had bad teachers when I was in school; quite honestly most ...

I would have to say that if an employer is using these sorts of tests to determine who to hire then very likely these aren't good employers to begin with. I don't see how these tests are scientifically valid nor relevant to the actual job positions they are given for. Even for jobs that might legiti...

Tolerance works both ways. Also I think to the lgbtq tolerance to them equals accepting / agreeing / approving of their lifestyle. Here's the thing, tolerance doesn't equal approval, AND why does tolerance only apply to them? Why can't they show tolerance to those who disagree with that lifestyle c...

To OP, you are too paranoid. It is the natural political progression. New views and ideas are gradually accepted by society but the older people get, the more conservative they get, whereas younger people drive the progression. The progressives of today, will mostly be the conservatives of tomorrow...

I first went on Facebook about ten years ago but I didn't use my real name (I made up a ridiculous one, this was when FB allowed you to use basically whatever name you wanted) and I thought it was a sham back then. I still have a FB account but again, with a made up name and no data or photos on it....

No, kid, you aren't helping the LGBT community at all. Your own post shows how little you understand LGBT people at all. As far as I'm concerned you read something online which inspired you to come down from your pedestal and in your own mind 'enlighten' the LGBT community with your insight of us. ...
