Start with namecalling. But, additionally, speaking for myself, I don't criticize the beliefs of Biblical-Literalists, including Atheists. Their beliefs are their business, no mine, and don't interest me. So, our Atheist friends need to ask themselves why it's so important to them to evaluate other... |

And while there is nothing wrong with people preferring to marry those from their own nation, isn't it racist to openly advocate against people marrying people from outside of their own native country?. It isn't a racial issue, it is a cultural one. I doubt there is a single nation in the world ent... |

Why are the non religious falsely criticized and put down for their lack of beliefs by some people? The religious aren't the only ones that face insults and wrongful acts, so why only view one part of a larger issue? And how would you define what false criticism would be, or what is considered an in... |

Unfortunately some people can't distinguish between an attack on their logic from an attack on their emotions. They believe that their way of thinking about their situation must be right and therefore justifies how they feel. Emotions can be wrong, especially when people don't realize or ignore thei... |

For the sake of clarity, I will refer to two different groups: people who are devoted to their beliefs (including atheists), and people who have chosen not to strictly follow any belief, religious or otherwise. Within the former group, false criticisms will occur with very little provocation, since ... |

There's no winning against someone that says "I'm right because I believe I'm right", or "logic doesn't apply to my situation, therefore you can't prove me wrong". It's like dealing with a little kid. Logic is always applicable, what matters is whether it is used properly. Religi... |

I have a better topic for discussion: why do religious people feel the need to denigrate the use of logic? It's perfectly okay for them to point out logical fallacies, but to just completely throw logic out the window is uncalled for. The question I asked is meant in a rhetorical sense, but feel fre... |

-10+10i, because I need a 2 dimensional scale to show that I feel terrible and great at the same time. |

It's only natural that frustration will grow when dealing with people that are completely set in their ways. Some people are even so devoted that they refuse to listen to any kind of logic or reasoning. It's like a stubborn little kid trying to win a game by ignoring all of the rules and making up h... |

Yes, if he is a sane person then there is no way he can attack another country without NK being destroyed. Which gets me back to the point I was making before, we will be safe as long as some maniac doesn't decide to attack them first. If you want him dead, then hope for him to die by natural or acc... |

My sense of the word normal in this case would be that it means having a strong capability to communicate over a broad range of topics. The way I see it, being normal means being able to engage in conversations with little to no substance at all, i.e. small talk. For the most part I ignore people wh... |

I see religion as completely unnecessary because you don't need to have a belief in some higher power to have good ethical values. Even believing in an afterlife is meaningless. If there is an afterlife, then you will end up where you deserve to if you live your life the way you see fit, whether you... |

What xfilesgeek was getting at is that despite the prejudices of your peers you still live your life by your own standards and beliefs and no one else's. That's why you are better than them. |

Any rational person can see your situation for what it is, and that's all I need to know to leave this thread. |
