I could never go with noise canceling headphones: the white noise gives me headaches. But I do love my Sennheisers, and even without noise canceling they block quite a bit of sound. Sennheiser is definitely better than Bose in terms of audio quality (my Bose headphones were slightly more comfortable...

It's a lot more fun in person, for sure. I don't really have a choice, because my friends are 1,300 miles apart...

Yep, I'm currently running Coriolis on Roll20, though the game is on hiatus at the moment. I roleplayed through most of high school, lost most of my group but still continued through college, then just didn't have time plus lost my last group member. I just started again with a new group of friends ...

Indie folk, acoustic singer/songwriter, and jazz from the 30s-60s (what passes for jazz these days is more like easy listening muzak). Also soundtracks and classical, and folk music from pretty much anywhere (just bought an album of Georgian polyphonic chant the other day, for example). But I'm pret...

For me Seattle is perfect for many reasons, but as for the climate: - Still as "rugged" as any city in the US can be. - An abundance of beautiful nature of the type that I prefer (temperate coniferous rainforest). - The option to get to the ocean or mountains with equal ease. - Occasional...

Sure, if you want to live in the swamp. My city has a population density of 3,856.00/sq mi, and that's not counting the year-round tourists.

Here's a better question: why would anyone live in a hot, muggy, flat, ugly, overcrowded state like Florida? (I ask myself that question every. single. day, because I have the misfortune to be one of them. >_< ) Why would anyone live in Washington State? Oh, I don't know, maybe because the climate i...

We tried using it to play D&D one time, but we had a lot of issues with it, so we switched to Skype. ...yes, I know that's not what you're asking =) Try Roll20. It's specifically designed for RP'ing. That's how I roleplay with my friends. :) Knowing how he's like on My Little Pony, even *after*...

He might have grown on me more had I watched more than one episode, I admit. It's true that very few shows have great pilots. And, of course, we're all individuals with unique experiences, so what I find to be an inaccurate portrayal may seem more authentic to someone else who's had different experi...

Disclaimer: I only watched the first episode and felt so disenchanted I felt no inclination to watch more. That out of the way, I felt the show was inordinately patronising, and as much as I loved Freddie Highmore's earlier work I felt he did a poor job of portraying someone on the spectrum. There w...

I do it too. We have tile and I only step on every other tile--even when I'm not pacing. Helps that I'm a toe-walker.

For me it's more about the quality of the content than how much of it. I can pour 200-300 hours into a Morrowind game and love it, yet at ~100 hours Dragon Age: Inquisition feels about three times longer than it should have been because so much of the content was vapid.

I was obsessed with it until I switched to hating it. :p Now I don't really care one way or the other. I still go to see the movies--with a sort of deadpan expression throughout--but I don't waste my energy on hating them anymore.

I'll reserve judgment until I see it, but from the trailer this looks like one of the more authentic portrayals of autism in media I've seen. I look forward to watching it. I don't know if anyone on the spectrum was involved in the writing or production.
