IMHO, you're probably best off trying to learn one of: Python, Javascript, or Java. Python is easy to learn, though I'm not sure how readily useful the runtimes are on Windows. (It's part of the standard install on OS X & Linux). Doing HTML+Javascript is a great combo, you can then expand into P... |

Saying no to a young child results in: * tantrums * violence * failure to eat / drink / toilet * tears and sad faces (you do feel guilty for saying 'no'... well, sometimes) * vomit (I'm not kidding - excessive screaming has literally made my kids sick, and I know others that can do it 'on command').... |

[nb., undx'd] My wife was the one who pointed out my bad eye contact. It's probably a little better with her than most others, but not alot. I do make a point of forcing myself to make eye contact with her, especially when I'm saying nice things (I love you etc.) :). I make natural eye contact with ... |

These days, I just feel an almost irresistable need to "get it out"; especially when I'm part-way though, I just need to finish what I started. (It's particularly noticable when I've just told someone about something I've done at work, and am explaining the fifty thousand things that might cause pro... |

Wouldn't millions of aspies be hard to control and manage? Lowered need to conform to the group's desired dynamics, etc. |

The "I'm OK" stuff there is more of a "I'm coping, thanks for asking" than anything.

I've been pondering on a similar train of thought recently. My current belief is that it's entirely possible to have Asperger's Syndrome (ie. the underlying wiring differences), but not necessarily be affected enough to warrant a diagnosis of Asperger's Disorder. ie., the Syndrome is like a type of ... |

Yeah I never notice stuff, and I get comments that I never notice stuff
I really don't know how others do it - on the odd occasion when I do notice something, I'm afraid of saying anything in case I'm wrong and nothing has changed (which has happened in the past). |

Wow, that sucks big-time . I hate the politics constantly swirling around much of my family, but this is far worse.
Good luck for whatever you choose for the future, Siuan. |

I have a lot of friends and family working at schools (I'm ex-DECS myself); believe me when I say that making up the timetables is a huge and disaster-prone issue, especially when parents make late requests of what other children can/can't be placed together. It's possible that she's just having a s... |

For sure.
I seem to be at opposite ends sometimes - I think that interrupting someone doing something by themselves (eg. listening to music on headphones) is rude, but others think that isolating yourself (eg. by listening to music on headphones ) is rude instead. |

We had this problem with our (very NT) eldest daughter, though we had already moved her to a bed. For quite some time we just gave up and I sat in the room with her (and her younger sister) until they were both asleep. Eventually my wife and I decided that we'd had enough of loosing 30-90 minutes pe... |

I'm just like this, and I hate it. It took me years to work out that I was even like that; I've always lived with someone else. Caller ID makes it easier. I think it's the stress and anxiety of not knowing what's going to happen, and thinking you'll do "the wrong thing" or annoy the other person. It... |

I believe Social Anxiety Disorder is a common misdiagnosis also? Though that's an anxiety disorder rather than a personality disorder, I suppose. |

Yeah - I actually only found out this year I had bad eye contact, I always thought I had really good eye contact :( It's not really bad; I look at people at enough "key" moments that I can convey that I'm listening etc. etc., at least most of the time. I've been trying to improve my eye contact... I... |
