Star cats- yes I can identify with what you're saying completely, it makes me uncomfortable when NTs do pretend niceties. I feel very hyper aware of everything and notice small changes and also have hyper sensory awareness too. I think it was this hyper awareness that Temple Grandin used to her adva...

I'm wondering if other people ever experience a sixth sense, kind of information coming from another source in different situations? I sometimes have almost premonitions or a sixth sense something bad is about to happen. Also occasionally in family social situations I can tell deep down if people ar...

Yes lostonearth can relate to a lot you are saying. It also made me realise something that when I'm criticised or insulted it reminds me of school days and I think I kind of revisit that awful feeling I experienced then. One criticism has a domino effect and helps resurface all the other criticisms ...

I find if this happens I can feel deeply offended, I replay the words for days after, ruminate and get anxious. I also feel uncomfortable with criticism, if it is constructive for example at my photography course I deal with it absolutely fine, it can even be helpful. But if someone is overly critic...

Thank you splendid snail your post kind of clarified and answered the questions I've asked myself about empathy. Some days I think I have so much empathy in a situation it makes me re-evaluate if my diagnosis is correct. Other times when I try to guess someones intentions or receive a text message a...

Hi welcome to WP, I think an autism specialist once said: "no two aspies are the same". That may be true but I would say there are some very common traits. The one I notice a lot is a lack of effect: facial expression, gestures are muted when communicating alongside an aversion to change, ...

Yes always had vivid dreams, all kinds of weird stuff:blue meringues, lavatories that are public without walls, gory dreams, being stuck in a tower, psychedelic stuff. Usually feel exhausted and anxious when I wake up, it certainly is not a restful nights sleep. It's like existing in a parallel univ...

Just wondering if everyone could read the facial expressions in the photographs? For the first minute I was a bit stumped and it felt like I was systemising, searching for times when I've seen that sort of facial expression. Most difficult for me was the top middle chap!

Thanks for the post of faces zombie bride. Think I worked out half of them! The emoji thing I suppose I don't use them very often so maybe that's why I'm not familiar.

Small talk I find hard especially if I sense the other person feels awkward too it just doubles up the awkwardness and I feel even more stiff. I find sometimes if I'm in a positive mood I can do quick interactions in the supermarket really easily and I feel confident communicating. But if I got stuc...
