It's not a film adaptation of a book, though. The book came after the film, and is about a way larger part of their lives than is in the film, it's just got the same title. The film is an adaptation of their life , though. The book is as close to reality as we could get away with. We had to change ...

The paperback version of "Mozart and the Whale: An Asperger's Love Story" is now available online and at most bookstores. It is cheaper than the hardbound copy. If you want an autographed ( by Mary and me ) copy, you can email me and I will give you an address to send a check for twelve dollars. Jer...

I had to correct Wackipedia again about MATW. It is NOT going to be at the Sundance Film Festival in 2007. It is amazing that anyone would post something so silly: If your film doesn't get a theater distributor and goes to DVD, it doesn't stand a chance of getting into a festival like Sundance. Jerr...

That guy is absolutely amazing, although he in fact isn't autistic. I saw a video of him on YouTube, and it showed how he can remember nearly EVERYTHING he has ever observed. He can recall every note of every piece of music he has ever heard, and give the title, artist/composer, and year from just ...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/12/20/wbush20.xml just another example of Bush hiding stuff from the media. I disagree. Her health is nobody's business but her familie's. It would be different if the President had cancer. A far better example of hiding stuff is the Kennedy...

Oh, wow, you're the guy who the film was based on? Congradulations!! ^__^ (Touche on the baboon thing, too!) I have to ask--what did you and your wife think of the film? Mixed feelings and intensely so. It is very disappointing that the film didn't get a wide theater release. It has its flaws BUT i...

I have never seen Mozart and the Whale, but I know that the couple in the movie does not speak for all AS/AS couples. Tim Tim, you are right and we don't pretend to do that either which is more than I can say for most of the public people in our community :) Jerry Newport aka The Whale

What kind of music was on the soundtrack. Whale: Most pop crap. The only good stuff was actually Mozart music which should have been the only music used. Somebody said they didn't like the wife's laugh or her smoking. I think some people do have very annoying laughs but they probably can't really h...

Since the movie was based on a real couple - the important factor should be whether THEY feel like they were stereotyped. Whale: We were but not nearly as much as we feared when we saw the original script. Both Donald and Isabelle are watered-down versions of me and my wife but since they didn´t us...

I rented the DVD. My impressions: I loved it. Yay. The script was nice, the direction MOSTLY decent, and the acting was better than I expected from Josh "The Plank" Harnet and Radha Mitchell (AKA the Silent Hill Woman--no wonder she's so screwed up in this movie after getting chased by Pyramid Head...

I am sad to hear of Steve Irwin's death. He was, I hear, an inspiration for the crocodile dundee character and one of my cockatiels is named cockatiel dundee in honor of that legend. Steve shared dangerous animals with the world in a humorous and courageous way. He will be missed and I hope a fund f...

FYI, I know people who have worked with Keanu Reeves and they all say he is definitely something though it may be more OCD than aspergers. Same with Cybill Shepard. She drove the crew at one movie crazy because she refused to use public toilets and insisted on using the one in her mobile home; not ...

yeah it is really amazing what us aspies can do! (sorry to go off topic) But take gary numan for example with his 1979 hit "are freinds electric" and i also think steven speilburg has it. Mozart, albert einstein, Sir issac newton all show aspie traits also (makes those NT's look great does'nt it)! ...

Officially, Dan Akkroyd and Marylou Henner are aspies. Unofficially, Stephen Spielberg is. Several of the cast members in my movie expressed a lot of identity with aspergers and said they felt they had a natural head start in the acting. Sigourney Weaver plays an official aspie in "Snow Cake" which ...

Sorry i misunderstood. So why would the cast not support the film publicly? The main objector is Josh Hartnett, who played my alter-ego. He doesn't like the final edit. I think most of the rest are just being loyal to him. I think the final edit could have been better and didn't like one scene in p...
