I just came back to this forum after like a 7 year hiatus. I'm terrified to even see what my signature was back then. I refuse to post it until I can update it. I hope the feature comes back soon!

My new name and location aren't showing up either :(

It really sucks. I would suggest to get connected with your county's mental health department, workforce department, developmental disability center, etc. as soon as possible. That is what I'm doing and I'm optimistic that they will help me get a job soon. It's hard enough to get a job in a place wi...

I still think it would be interesting to go to a support group. I think it could make things very clear for me about what part of the spectrum I'm really at. Because at this point, I don't know if I am so high-functioning that I really fall into NTland or have even more aspie cluelessness than most ...

The official distinction is about speech delay, (...) 1. A diagnosis of autism requires the presence of a speech delay- Aspies do not and usually speak early. I have yet to meet an Aspie with any motor delays. This one is true, though there is some debate over someone can have mild speech delays an...

Wow, very accurate in my case too.

The only one I was confused on was about having a close friend when younger but not as an adult... I have generally closer interactions with people as a young adult, and I thought this would make sense due to gradual learning.

I am surpised I do not see this kind of thread more often. Almost everything seems to ask for some sort of people skills, either in the job description or by judging you in the interview. How in the world is anyone even close to the autism spectrum supposed to find work with such rigid requirements?...

I was diagnosed when I was five years old... wow... Some of you were diagnosed really late... My thoughts too. My supposed diagnosis of autistic disorder was when I was seven. (There is some reason to believe that I was not 'fully' diagnosed.) I'll be looking into this soon to either confirm this i...

I am only bullied sometimes by my family, mainly my little sister, lol

In school I don't think I was ever outright bullied... I guess I'm not the only one but it seems most times this is brought up that everyone has horrible bullying stories. It makes me wonder how I got to be lucky in that regard.

The official distinction is about speech delay, not this stuff, but there are some interesting associations. According to things like this, I am some weird hybrid of NT, Aspie and HFA 1. A diagnosis of autism requires the presence of a speech delay- Aspies do not and usually speak early. I have yet ...

Haven't some animal rights already been established? It seems like it when I see those TV shows about people getting into legal trouble due to abusing their pets.... also, what about laws that keep people from hunting certain creatures? I think that if it hasn't already, that there will be some firm...

Same for me, I got the answer right, but I had to do really careful reading of it. I had to make sure that I understood each interaction, did not mix up the names, look at the resulting question and ask myself what piece of information the person in question received last.
