So what you're saying is that it's okay to swear if you're so angry you aren't thinking about what you're saying, but it's not okay if you premeditate your statement and think about whether it's what you really want to say. I guess we better never say critical things to each other even if they're tr...

I don't appreciate the ad-hominem. Small animals never did anything to me, so why would I hurt them? When I say a word that upsets someone, I'm not causing harm. It's your own fault if you overreact to a sound because you think it means something horrible. Let me put it this way. Some uptight Brits ...

If you hear black people speaking other dialects or languages, you may notice that they often no longer sound as distinct. There may be some biological basis for the difference (slightly different proportions of the vocal organs, or something), but culture seems to play a much greater part.

Why is the evolution argument still going on? It's over. Evolution is real and undeniable. It's not even a biological concept - it's a mathematical concept. Given a randomly varying set (even young-earth creationists admit that mutations occur) and a selective process (everybody knows living things ...

Calling someone a murderer or a thief or a liar would be more effective than referring to him with some vague cuss word. Those words ought to have a lot more impact because they're more meaningful and pose an accusation of something real, but the people who will react to swear words are less worrie...

Pretty much the same thing here. It keeps me from doing a lot of things. I think before I really knew very much about AS, I was a lot more productive. When I started learning what it was, I accepted it and allowed myself to just be myself, and that's created all kinds of problems, like tension with ...

CREATING CHAOS AND ANARCHY AND DESTROYING FREEDOM Let me guess, the socialists are taking over the golf course? WHAT'S THIS GOLF COURSE COMING TO? Seriously, I think the worst that could happen is that some people will figure out that they don't have to pay for golf. They'll go in peacefully, have a...

Well, this isn't really about a cure, is it?

I mean, maybe that's the idea of identifying the gene, but I'm just interested in knowing the cause and mechanism behind ASD. Hiding from that reality because you don't want a cure is just irresponsible.
