I did not know how to tie my shoes until I was 8 years old. Right after my grandfather died, I suddenly knew how. No practice needed. Strange.

I have been playing bass for more than 3 1/2 years now, for my own amusement. Last May, I bought a defretted five string bass, and have neglected my previous five string bass. But the keyboard is my main instrument. I like to make up melodic bass lines. There is zero chance I will ever play in publi...

I like playing the piano using rhythms like 3 against 5, 4 against 7.... pretty much any combination. Just takes a little coordination... Anyone can do it if they desire to... Perhaps many can do it naturally. I myself had to work at it. I started not being able to play 2 against 3. Written many pie...

Hey is there anybody on this forum that's from Iowa? What to chat with someone from Iowa or Illinois. I am from southeastern Iowa, about 90 minutes from you. In time, I am 24 years distant from you though. I used to go up to Iowa City frequently, but my new job schedule no longer permits it. Have y...

Was that the high school kid with Autism who lives in Rochester, New York?...that was a great basketball game! J-Mac, aka Jason MacElwain, the autistic basketball phenom. An autistic who "overcame" autism. Interestingly, I read that, unlike many or most autistics, he was actually liked by his fello...

I would guess that swinging of arms is a carry-over from when our ancestors walked on all fours? Dave

Autistics usually are more in their own world, usually 9 out of 10 have a language delay, and usually have more problems with self help skills, and usually have only a below or average IQ. Aspergers usually are known as little professors, 9 out or 10 have no language delay, usually have an average ...

I've taken both. Seroquel is pretty dangerous. I would hope that they would find something else for panic attacks, given that even most of the rest of the psych drugs are less dangerous than the neuroleptics. And Neurontin is not intended for anxiety. It's been over-marketed for just about everythi...

I feel a bit nervous around anyone who's that diesel at first. I think its their potential that bugs me out at first, if I find I'm getting a good rapport with them things are cool - but then taking it another level; if someone's got a crushing social handshake its tough for me to keep at level. In...

It may be a problem with your browser. I know it works with my Seamonkey, so I guess it would work fine with Firefox. It's a HORRIBLY intensive website. Once fully in, it has all these clever graphical page-turning effects. I find it abysmal. So much so, that I can't get up the effort to read any m...

They have the math wrong.... they do that calculation based on how many DIAGNOSED cases there are vs. the total population. Since I doubt even 5% of us are actually diagnosed worldwide they're underestimating the autistic population radically. A VERY small percentage of adults actually get diagnose...

Is it really worth plowing through education to get into a job I don't really want to do so I can work for fifty years, then stay in bed all day watching TV and wondering if my kids will call? Is there anything that's occured in your life that's really broken up all the sludge and concrete of moder...

you have to "sign in" with your name, email, and choose a password. WHY? I don't know. It seems like that would discourage people from reading the magazine, which is free afterall. Anyway, I thin kit was worth it. I plan on going back and reading some of the articles too. I can't get it to work. I ...
